Eastbrook, Maine | Molasses Pond Tucked quietly into the woods on the edge of beautiful Molasses Pond, Sunrise Point is the kind of place you book when you want your own stretch of waterfront—no crowds, no neighbors wandering through, no noise—just three private acres, 300 feet of secluded shoreline, and a dock that faces due east for unforgettable sunrises. The property is ideally suited for groups of 20 or fewer; you may set up, up to five tents (with one dedicated 10' x 20' tent platform), and small off-grid RV/vans under 23' are welcome, but we cannot accommodate large drive-in RVs or tow-behinds. Our setup is true outdoor living: with a glamorous “glam-latrine” outhouse, plus an open-air shower and sink supplied with pond water and warmed by solar-heated hot water—pure nature, elevated. Spend your days swimming off the float, kayaking the calm coves, fishing for salmon and trout, or doing absolutely nothing in a camp chair with coffee and a view. At night, gather around the fire circle under a sky full of stars and remember what it feels like to truly slow down. You’ll want water shoes or sandals, and you’ll be glad you brought them. Molasses Pond is a 1,252-acre recreational pond (max depth 47’) known for salmon, brown trout, white perch, and bass. Whether you’re here to cast a line at sunrise or cruise the pond in the afternoon, this is a place where “one more hour outside” turns into the whole day. We often see eagles overhead, fish cruising by the dock, and in July/August you’ll find wild blueberries lining the shoreline. Every so often, a moose makes a quiet appearance—rare, but unforgettable. Self Check-in: 4:00 PM Check-out: 11:00 AM check in instructions sent via VRBO or email prior to arrival Good to know before you pack: Linens/towels/bedding are not provided. Please bring your own: towels, pillows & bedding, sleeping bags, extra blankets, etc... No WiFi / limited cell service. This is an intentionally unplugged stay—bring books, games, and good conversation. (we can usually get 2 bars on our phones on the dock, so you're not totally cut off). Bug spray is a must. We truly enjoyed our stay and the property was an excellent get away for the two of us. There was tons of room to spare and we will definitely make a return trip with the extended family. The property was accurately described and everything you could ever need was included on the property. The lawn is incredibly large with frisbee golf and plenty of space for our family dog to run and enjoy the landscape. However what was advertised and what we found when we got there were two different things. So we have listed the Pros and Cons so other vacationers know what to expect. Pros: Pot and pans in good shape;Dishes & glasses clean & plentiful;Nice location;Molasses Pond beautiful;Plenty of Parking;Corn Hole was nice;Tiki area nice;Beds very well made;Wifi & wifi calling/texting worked good;Nice magnetic closing screen on back door;Cozy feel to the house; At first Host was responsive with issues giving ETAs for resolutions Cons: No hot water in shower (new faucet in drawer, not installed;No smoke detectors (new ones still in package on table and in drawer);No land line;No power in bathroom outlet;No hairdryer;Issues with electrical outlets;Couldn't stream Netflix;DW door can't open all the way and smells;Refrigerator drawers broken, but stays cold!;Ceiling fan upstairs doesn't work and it's hot;Deck has loose & rotted boards covered with rugs;Old trashed pool under deck filled with stagnant water;No croquet, most outdoor games unusable;No canoe;single kayaks not steerable due to missing fins; Host never carried through with fixing issues with landline, fan, smoke detectors, streaming and no hot water, however did offer compensation, that's why this is a 3 star review. Nice house, well manicured. We loved walking the dogs down the trail to the lake and/or lounging in the greens near the house. It is super-remote. There is Wi-Fi but it’s spotty so I wouldn’t advise conducting business if possible. This is where you want to go to get away from it all and have privacy with a view. The house was the perfect size for us to spread out but had a great indoor and outdoor space for us to spend time together. The lake was our favorite spot, every day we went swimming and kayaking. We did experience an issue with the internet (at no fault of the owner and they worked with us on resolving the issue) but we utilized the board games and DVDs in the evenings to help pass the time. After we booked and paid, we realized that there was actually only 1 bathroom and 1 outdoor shower. The listing now accurately shows 1 bathroom. The property was beautiful, and the water activities were well-stocked with more kayaks and paddleboards than were actually listed. Mosquitoes were a HUGE problem. I would either advertise the house for less people or add 2 bathrooms and a game room in the basement. 1 bathroom is definitely NOT enough for a house that sleeps 12! ##### Nora D. It's definitely distanced from central locations and its an hour to Acadia, but if you want privacy and a beautiful environment it's worth it.
