It is right on the water with a nice dock and there are kayaks and a fishing pole. There is a fire pit (bring your own wood). The place is a nice size and has everything you need while you're there, besides food and toiletries. Restaurants and shops are walkable. The room was very outdated. Wood floors needed work. You could see the ground through the floor boards. My wife had to strip all the bedding sheets to wash them. One of the available kayaks to use had a small leak. The room was clean, comfortable and what you expect in Matlacha as far as wall a/c and just being older but its good - it is a cottage on the water for a good price and a low key staycation. The cottage and the property are charming and very well kept. You can hear some road noise from the bedrooms on the near side of the property but it quiets down by bedtime and didn’t cause us to lose any sleep.
