All of our appliances worked, we did not have an issue with the tv and the staff was friendly and eager to make our stay comfortable. I think the place does need a little bit of care. First of all some of the chairs were very dirty to the point I did not want to sit on them, and some of the tiles in the bathroom were broken; other than that maybe someone should double check the unit before the cleaning company leaves as it was a little bit dusty and I found some food stuck on what were supposed to be clean utensils. I would also recommend to the company to keep some beach supplies in the closets. Usually, when I stay at places that use their proximity to the beach as a selling point, they keep beach umbrellas, towels and beach toys in the closets for guest use but this unit had none of that, which made our stay a little inconvenient as we flew in from a different state and did not have anything to take with us to the beach. The pool was nice, and it was warm; and the beach is only a few minutes walk. Wrong with the vacation rental: - STRONG urine smell - Evidence of fresh paint and smell (like just painted over urines stains) - Stained couch and chairs - Dirty floors - No hot water - Bed bugs - Confirmation that there were bed bugs since we got an email asking for Pest Control to enter the property - Tried covering up the stains with blankets - The lock to our unit was broken and did not work - None of the outlets worked - The light switches also didn’t work - Broken door inside unit We’re currently trying to get a refund from VRBO because the host decided to ghost us. This is so incredibly frustrating. We had to go to a different hotel. I didn't know Pompano Beach even had a block like this. It was a rundown block with ramshackled low-rise housing. It was no wonder that VRBO would not give me the address much before my getting there. It was a seedy apt that I was happily surprised when I only killed one water bug. The a/c condenser was inside a closet in one of the bedrooms which made sleep difficult. Judging by the other tenants I was amazed we ween't burglarized. Specially since the chain lock on the front door had been broken. Pass this one up. ##### Thomas M. I'm shocked the electrical is even to code. Half the switches dont work and are connected to nothing. They've got extension cords all over. Holes in the ceiling with black stuff hanging out. Nice property, all amentities except for cable (had roku but no instructions to use it). No wifi for PC? Good location... beach was across street and within walking distance to pier, restaurants and shopping. Also close to free taxi service. Had a couple of issues with AC and hot water but was easily fixed at circuit breaker. Checkin was easy and management/owner was responsive to questions. Pool looked clean but did not use it.
