Welcome to 406 E Arctic...this classic 1930's Folly Beach cottage has been beautifully restored and updated, yet still holds onto the charm of Folly of years past. If you are looking for a fancy place, this is not your place, as this home embodies old school era beach cottage vibes...cozy, worn, yet comfy. Across the street from the beach and on a full lot, this home is a must see with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wood floors nearly throughout, and a full front porch for enjoying all the sight Folly has to offer! Featuring the original beadboard walls and ceilings, the living room has vaulted ceilings and a brick fireplace, while upstairs you can view the ocean from the large screened front porch. Outside you will find a large driveway, parking area and outside shower. Across the street, there is beach access on both the left and the right with views of the beach. With fun and funky décor, this is definitely not your grandmother's beach house! Folly Beach, or as locals refer to it, The Edge of America, is a laid-back, golf-cart-friendly community with many great restaurants, a booming nightlife, plenty of shopping, water activities, and water tours. For more historic exploring, the famous Downtown Charleston is only a 25 - minute car ride, which offers endless fine dining, shopping, historical sites, and more. There is something for everyone here. We promise you will Folly in love with this beautiful island! There is plenty of parking in the driveway. We do not provide beach equipment, but anything available at the property is yours to use. Check-in time: 4 pm. Check-out time: 10 am. The Folly Beach noise ordinance is from 10 pm to 8 am. No pets allowed. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA and are not allowed in properties unless specifically designated in writing as “pets considered” and approved by our office. No smoking is allowed in or outside of the house. House parties, weddings, functions, events, bands, DJs, etc., are prohibited. The occupancy can be at most 8 people at any time during your stay. We require 50% payment at the time of booking. The remaining 50% of your balance will be due 30 days before the check-in date, and we will run the card on file. The place was perfect for our family of 4\. It’s just steps from two public beach access points. The house was as described, and the rental management was as in contact with us throughout our stay. The yard, porches and driveway were all great too. If you have tiny children it may be bit too far for them to walk to center of town, but non problem for bigger kids, teens or adult. A great stay. The interior of the home could use some updating and care. Downstairs bathroom floor was chipping and one of the bed frames in the downstairs room wouldn’t stay together (ended up using a ratchet strap to keep it together). There were also some ants in the kitchen throughout the stay; not an infestation but enough to be an annoyance. However, plenty of space for two families of four and the yard and front porch were great. Location was also hard to beat. The house is easily within walking distance of both the beach and downtown so we didn’t have to bother with fighting for parking spots. ##### Brandon F. The beach is across the street and you are close enough to walk to Center Street. Having four young children this was one of our top priorities. Having two floors of living space was awesome, as was the screened in porch in the evenings. The pictures online showed a bunk bed on the top floor which had been replaced with a full for our stay which was disappointing. The condition of the house left a lot to be desired. We liked the lived in, well loved beach cottage vibe we picked up from the listing photos but upon arrival, the place just needs a good scrub. The floor is chipping away in several places in the bathroom and kitchen, the leather has worn through on the arms of the chairs, there are holes in the screened in porch which allowed birds in when we first arrived and there was a hole in the ceiling downstairs where insulation was coming through. We have stayed on Folly several times before and are aware of the bugs common to island life, however, we found more than usual inside the house during our stay. Of minor concern was the TV that only receives about 3-5 channels and they only had 2 kids DVDs in the house. We by no means needed fancy, top of the line accommodations traveling with kids, but cleanliness goes a long way. ##### Meghan H.
