It truly lived up to and exceeded my expectations and bonus, it was shockingly affordable. I feel like a genius. Note to future bookers: to check in, let them know what time you’ll be there, and when you arrive at the unassuming entrance scroll thru the directory until you see “Cavalieri Palace” and press the bell button. First the good: The location is perfect – on a quiet street but close walking distance to many sites. We liked having all the space of an apartment. The kitchen is small but outfitted with everything we needed. The apartment was roomy, clean and comfortable. The cleaning and service staff were efficient, friendly and accommodated requests. For the not so good: some maintenance issues have been neglected – for example, the toilet ran, some electric outlets were not working & one lamp worked sporadically and had a badly frayed wire, so we unplugged it. One day the wifi didn’t work & on our last night we came home late to no lights and no electric. All the breakers had tripped (even though nothing was running). Luckily the breaker box was in the apartment and we were able to reset them. But the worst issue was a horrible sewer smell that came and went sporadically (not when we were using water). This happened during the day and overnight and was bad enough to cause headaches. The Hotel Pierre next door offers breakfast to guests for 15 Euro – but the selection was poor. Our son has stayed here before (not this particular apartment) without a problem and the other reviews are good.
