Quiet, Spacious, Serene Retreat Located in a Private Wooded Setting A private gated drive leads to The Chalet and its a 160 acres of quiet scenic serenity. This home offers a spacious, open floor plan (approximately 2,000 sq. ft.), and many windows engulfing one in sunshine, calm and nature. The home rents weekly from Saturday to Saturday in prime summer weeks and can also be rented on a daily basis thereafter. Amenities: Interior – The main level features a fully equipped kitchen, queen bedroom and full bathroom (all linens and towels provided). The living space is an open layout with high ceilings and a large fieldstone wood burning fireplace. There is a good sized sunroom equipped with a futon for extra sleeping. The upstairs loft has 2 queen beds and another full size bath. AC and washer/dryer also provided. Exterior - The private 160 acres include 2 spring fed lakes, great for swimming, fishing, hiking, etc. The swim raft, fishing boat, kayak and paddle boat are included. Other exterior features include a fire pit, spacious decking, and and charcoal grill. The Chalet is a perfect winter getaway with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing (on property and near VASA trails) and miles of snowmobile trails right outside the gate! We also have more properties within a mile of The Chalet that could be utilized in combination with the Chalet to accommodate a larger group (VRBO Listing #653026 The Cabin, and # 1654154 The Lodge)! So peaceful and secluded. The chalet was very clean. It’s spacious and cozy. Loved the large windows facing the lake and the fireplace! The upstairs loft has 2 queen beds, a bathroom and some furniture which was perfect for my parents who came with us. Right on the snowmobile trail which is what we came for. Carole kept in touch to make sure we didn’t need anything. We came into town to run in the Bayshore 10k but wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Traverse City on Memorial Day weekend. We found the perfect spot to do that! The cottage is beautiful, spacious, very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen, playing games inside and games of catch outside in the large yard, sitting on the dock taking in the beautiful sunshine, reading on the deck, a bonfire, and lots of quality family time. The property is very peaceful and serene. We saw swans, herons and had the unique opportunity to watch a turtle lay her eggs in the driveway! Carole is a very gracious, kind and supportive host! The fall colors around the lake were unparalleled. Kitchen was stocked, bed was comfy, plenty of room for the dogs to run. We walked through the forest to the other lake and watched bald eagles. Deer came to visit in the evening. Nice quiet and relaxing stay. ##### Susan G. Chalet is well planned and functional, plugs and lights where you want them, etc. We were delighted to find we could leave our cotton thermal blankets in their bag, since the hosts have them on the beds. I enjoyed cooking in the well supplied kitchen. Hubbie worked a bit, internet slows down a lot on the weekend (like most places up north), so watching shows that I downloaded early in the morning through my phone’s hot spot worked quite well. Area is a hiker's paradise inhabited with loads of wildlife. House was like home and Carole was accomodating without being intrusive. Great House, Great Location, Great Time. ##### Mary L. This very private spot, surrounded by woods with a small lake for paddling was perfect for relaxing on the large deck and watching the dogs run and play.
