The town and surrounding area is crisscrossed with many footpaths, to enjoy lovely walks in the Cotswold countryside and to explore the nearby Cotswold water park lakes. The nearby villages of Eastleach, Bibury, Hatherop, Quenington, Coln St.Aldwyns and a wealth of other beautiful Cotswold villages offering wonderful scenery and fantastic pubs and restaurants, all within a short walk, cycle or drive. The town sits on a pretty stretch of the River Coln and is famous for its parish church of St Mary’s, which is perhaps the finest ‘wool church’ in the country – being the only church with a complete set of 28 medieval stained glass windows telling the story of the Bible. Every Wednesday the market square is busy with a traditional market, and a continental market twice a year and a magical Christmas market on the first Friday of December. For three days every year RAF Fairford hosts the world’s largest military air show – the Royal International Air Tattoo – book early as tickets sell out quickly. It seemed as just the bare minimum was cleaned. There is quite a bit of mold in every window and in the bathroom. The bathroom had cobwebs and multiple spiders. the shower and sink had pink mold as if it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. The baseboards and around furniture had thick dust built up. The house was cute and quaint but I won't be staying there again. Also if you are on the taller side be aware that the doorways and the ceiling as you come down the stairs are very low. The decoration, attention to detail, cleanliness were spot on. Enjoyed the bottle of wine and thankful for the milk. The bed was really comfortable and the towels were the best I've ever used. A lovely town with everything in it you require. Lovely walk along the river and to the Mill Pond. We will definitely come back. Thank you for an enjoyable stay in your lovely house ##### Linda W. So wasn't able to explore the area as we would of wished too. BUT when we booked it the write up was showing as pet free which is what we always book where ever we go. We then happened to read a day before going one of the reviews mentioned a dog too. Dogs have been allowed to the property since May looking at the visitor book. This should of been made aware to us and anyone else. People choose pet free for a reason and not just because of health issues. VRBO replied in a way that was certainly was NOT apologetic. ##### Michael W.
