In Exeter's bustling centre, you'll find elegant Georgian architecture and a distinctive mix of modern restaurants, traditional pubs, state-of-the-art performance spaces and modern music venues. Exeter's centre is fairly compact and most of its best attractions are within easy walking distance of each other. Exeter is a great place to be if you like shopping. Don't miss the award-winning Princesshay Quarter, in the heart of the city. Here you'll find top High Street brands. For some of the city's more interesting independent shops and a nice selection of cafes, head to Gandy Street. Its free to use the fishing lakes which are only half a mile away but please remember to bring your own tackle.
