Just a short drive away from downtown Estes Park, this home is perfectly located for all your Rocky Mountain adventure needs. Enjoy relaxing on the spacious wraparound deck with a propane grill and fantastic mountain views. The main living spaces are on the upper level of this home requiring stairs. The living room features elevated ceilings with beautiful a-frame windows that showcase the mountains. The main level offers a gas stove with a cozy living area, including a flat-screen TV. The open-concept kitchen has plenty of room for family cooking, and the dining table folds out to comfortably seat six. To the right of the living and kitchen areas are two queen bedrooms, separated by a full bathroom with a shower. The spiral staircase leads to the lower level, which features the master bedroom with a king-size bed, across from the master bathroom with a shower. On this level you will also appreciate the full size washing machine and dryer in the laundry room. As an extra bonus, the lower level also has a sun room with a ping pong table and a queen sleeper sofa. With plenty of windows, this home is light, bright and airy while at the same time affording the peace and tranquility that comes from being nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Reserve your stay at Starlight in the Rockies today! What To Be Aware Of: NO A/C Main Living Space on 2nd floor; must do stairs. Parking for 3 cars in the driveway. AWD suggested in winter. High Drive area roads can be difficult with snow. The Garage is NOT available for guest usage. No Parties. No Smoking. No Pets. Fines apply. Quiet Time 7p.m. Guests buy their own soaps/paper items when provided starter kit items are depleted. Estes Park is a Dark Sky Community. Bring a Flash Light. BEARS in the area - secure trash, lock doors and windows when leaving. This home does not have a weekly trash pick up service. Trash will be picked up at departure. If necessary, trash will be picked up mid-stay for a nominal fee. Call the office at 970-480-8845\. Trash must not overflow the bear proof trash can or be stored in the garage or home. We reserve the right to conduct a property safety check during long term stays. Local On-Call Staff available after hours for emergency issues only, i.e. gas leak, broken furnace, broken water line. Snow removal at 4 inches of new snow on your arrival day. Management provides a starter kit of amenities to get you through your first day, including: an extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, one extra roll of paper towels, 2-3 garbage bags, sample-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner, small bar soap, 2-3 laundry powder packs, 4-5 dishwashing pods, liquid dishwashing soap, and a single brew coffee pack. Guests will need to provide or purchase additional toiletries and products as needed beyond this starter kit. Long-term reservations of 14+ days require mid-stay property safety checks or mid-stay cleans, additional trash pickups. Safety checks are at no additional charge. Mid-stay cleanings include linens change, floors, bathrooms and light surface cleaning. Mid-stay services are charged to the guest, and charges can only be added after your reservation is made. Having the third bedroom was great so that everyone got their own room and we could all get a good night's sleep. One thing I would note is that the only way to get between floors is a spiral staircase which is super steep. It fit our family of 4 with 2 young adult children perfectly. On 2 occasions, we had elk in the front yard which was fun to see and photograph from a safe distance. We also made good use of the ping pong table. Each bathroom was stocked with a hotel sized shampoo and conditioner so if you are staying more than a few days or have more than 4 people, you will need to bring your own. A sample sized bag of coffee was provided but there was no sugar/sweetener or creamer provided so you'll need that from the grocery. Aug 9, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Communication It was tough to stay in the house between 1 to 8 pm because the house would heat up to 90 degrees even with the 5 box fans going and the ceiling fans. Outside temps were 84 degrees, so warmer than normal for early August. It felt more like we were camping because we had to waste time at restaurants and the library in the afternoon after our morning hikes. It was a shame because the house was in a great location. Downstairs shower door kept falling off the track and also leaked water on the floor. Refrigerator dripped water from somewhere on the top shelf of the fridge. There were mice we caught in the traps downstairs (3) plus seen more. This home was the perfect get away. It was well equipped for cooking and enjoying time together. The wrap around deck was perfect. The location was between Estes Park and Rocky Mountain Park. Excellent location! While it's literally a short walk to several restaurants, groceries, and the new Bird's Nest coffee shop...you still feel like you're away from town and nestled in the mountains. And only about 5 minutes from the entrance to RMNP. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching Elk graze in the yard almost every morning and late afternoon. The communication for check in and check out was perfect. The location was amazing - super close to RMNP and also downtown. The only thing I would suggest for families is that the home is not ideal for tiny ones. Jul 23, 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location #### Very nice cabin for a small family, easy access, great views We stayed for 4 days in mid-July and enjoyed our stay. The back porch offered amazing views in the morning and evening (even though we had to look at neighboring cabins too). The bedrooms were all well-kept and enjoyable. In the summer heat, you really have to rely on box fans to circulate air, so it was hard to get cool some days. The electronics provided were excellent including strong wi-fi, fast Internet and DirectTV service. Wiggle room on the top floor got a little tight with 3 people, but we never needed to use the game room in the basement. Easy access to RMNP and downtown Estes, but we were disappointed we couldn’t use the garage even though the listing said we could. Plenty of critters large and small visited the cabin every day. The highlight of our stay was the morning elk in the backyard. Downside: The pictures need to be updated. The pictures make the house look larger than it is. The bedding, decor & doors have been changed. The well used couches need to be replaced. There was two couples that stayed in the home. We took the back bedroom. It was warm where the front bedroom was freezing. The beds were very soft. We were thankful we brought our own pillows. The downstairs with the king bed & small bathroom felt like a dingy basement. The washer & dryer do not work well. Two pods were left for our 2 night stay & no dryer sheets. I did notify the owner of two issues with the home with no response. We have stayed at several properties, do not take this review as an overly picky guest.
