Onward!
Our Sanctuary is a spacious mountain property on the edge of the Estes Park Valley with jaw-dropping views of Twin Sisters Peaks, which light up each evening as the sun sets. There is nothing better than enjoying the alpenglow and a glass of wine on our deck, or just watching the Rockies light up each morning as the sun rises.
The rental is divided into two main section: the original home and a newer addition. The original home features 2 upstairs bedrooms with a shared bath, and a downstairs with a bathroom, kitchen/living area with a wood stove, dining room, and huge main living area with amazing views. The addition features 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, and creates a separate space that lets groups of families and friends divide and enjoy privacy. Maybe the kids get the addition and the parents get the rest -- or maybe one family gets the addition and another gets the rest. You pick!
Despite the home`s proximity to the National Park and lots of hiking, I`d invite you to just enjoy the property and views and unwind. The views are sublime, the fireplace is so cozy and the deck is a delight!
BEDROOMS
Original Bedrooms 1 and 2: These are part of the main home, up the stairs and essentially above the kitchen. They both feature king beds and share a bathroom. There is nothing else on the upper floor. Both are spacious.
Addition Bedrooms 3, 4 and 5: The addition features a bedroom with 2 singles (a bunk bed); and two more bedrooms, each with a Queen.
BATHROOMS
- The original part of the home features an upstairs bathroom (tub/shower, toilet and vanity) that`s shared by the two king bedrooms. There`s also a lower floor bathroom with a shower, toilet and vanity.
- The addition features a full bathroom with toilet, vanity and tub/shower.
LIVING, DINING & COOKING
Kitchen - Remodeled as of June 2024! There are multiple small appliances, baking sheets, cupcake trays, a drip coffee maker, a crockpot, toaster, blender, and much more.
Downstairs Living/Dining - The downstairs has a big living room that opens onto the deck, with a comfy sofa surrounding the fireplace and a TV in the corner. There`s also a small game table. The living room attaches to a big dining room with a huge dining table.
Entertainment - Our home features a big 55` TV in the living room, and a smaller TV in a space in the addition. Both have Roku so please bring your streaming logins. We have lots of family friendly games and puzzles in the cupboards in the dining area, plus lots of kids books in the den.
LAUNDRY
We have a full size washer and dryer in our laundry room, free for you to use!

Because mountain weather is unpredictable, visitors need to have AWD, 4WD or snow tires from October to the end of May. Some winter days are dry and even warm, while others will see a foot or two of snow. Two wheel drive is totally fine during the summer. We cannot assist if you get stuck!
NO SMOKING, NO FIRES
My home was just a few miles from the two largest forest fires in Colorado history a few years ago. We are a strict no-smoking property. No smoking inside, outside, and no outdoor fire pits (now illegal in Estes Park`s vacation homes). Charcoal BBQs are banned. Our gas grill and gas fireplace are both allowed.
ROAD CONDITIONS
Estes has a great plow team and our driveway will also be plowed during storms, but if there`s a huge blizzard, they may not be plowed exactly when you need them to be. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!
GUEST COUNT
Our permit is limited to 12 people max.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area often and can break in!

House is in a beautiful location and loved the outdoor area. House needs several repairs on doors that stick terribly. Several kitchen drawers fall out when opened. Cleanliness was not what I expected for a home charging well over a 1000 a night.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Management is outstanding and responded quickly to each question and concern. The house has great features- the hot tub is amazing - but the house showed neglect with broken kitchen drawers, cheap furnishings, a rusty shower curtain rod and lack of seating in the large family room. Though the listing showed two sofas in the family room, we arrived to find only one, and that one could comfortably seat four people only. We were a party of six and had my brother and his family coming over from their nearby rental to watch sports and hang out so really needed additional seating. The host said the other sofa had been broken and not yet replaced. There was a very dirty stained old futon in a back hallway that we moved into the family room to have somewhere to sit. So overall it’s a large home with a great deck and hot tub and the appliances are good and the beds are good… but it sure needs some TLC.
