São Francisco do Sul is the oldest city in the State of Santa Catarina and the third oldest city in Brazil. It was colonized by Portuguese and Spanish. The first Brazilian Indian to tread on European soil was from here. It has the fifth largest port in Brazil and in the summer is much sought after by its beaches.
