This 4 bedroom beach home is located in Leucadia, a hidden gem in San Diego County, and one of the last frontiers of laid-back, truly authentic beach towns. The beaches are pristine, the locals are joyful and friendly, and the vibe, we believe you will find is exceptionally relaxing. Encinitas and this small enclave of Leucadia are recognized globally as one of the most quintessential surf towns in the world. Experience the culture of this sleepy surf town as you take off your shoes and put on your flip-flops. Providing a warm and comfortable stay for its guests, Hermes Haven has four bedrooms upstairs including a private studio. The primary with a king bed is light and bright, spacious closet, and a reading chair. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, the third bedroom features two twin beds. The fourth bedroom includes a private bathroom and kitchenette with a king bed. The studio room is attached with access from inside or outside. The upstairs bedroom's share a full size bathroom, with a relaxing soaking tub and a heated ToTo bidet toilet. The laundry room is conveniently at the end of the hall with a perch top view. The entryway has a small library, wood floors lead upstairs to the bedrooms. The entry opens up to the living space with a full-size piano for you to enjoy. Two french doors extend the living space outside to the patio area to enjoy the fabulous San Diego weather. The kitchen can accommodate the largest Thanksgiving feast, gorgeously remodeled, and is the heart of this home. Fully stocked and ready for any family meal. The kitchen is open to the living space and dining room with a corner built-in office space. The kitchen windows open to provide pass-through for convenient outdoor eating. The backyard includes a seating area with gas fireplace, old-school barrel hot tub, 8-seat patio table, BBQ, basketball half-court, ping-pong table and ample garden seating areas. Plenty of space to store the surfboards and roam the landscape. A private oasis with many beautiful flowering plants, fruit trees and walking path for serenity. A short five minutes to the beach, downtown Encinitas and easy freeway access. Nearest beach is the locals favorite Beacon's Beach. The host was not only gracious, but sent his condolences as well. The house. The property. There’s no way to describe just how beautiful, tranquil, homey, lived-in, and accommodating. The kitchen was more than well stocked for everything our family of eight needed. And we often had other family members over for meals or bonding, and the place was perfect for that as well. The outdoor space was incredible and beautiful, and the inside of the home was fantastic as well. The decorations, the cleanliness, and the general appointments to the home were fantastic. As Encinitas natives who have since moved away, we were looking for the perfect place to have a family vacation - Hermes Haven was it! The property is unique in that it has a private 360 degree patio and pristine yard. The bedrooms have plenty of closet space and very comfortable beds. The bathrooms are beauitful and well-equipped. The kitchen is the best part of the house - everything you could need to cook, plus a huge breakfast nook and table. We loved opening the windows to enjoy the sun and breeze while sitting together. This home is close to everything, and you can walk to plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Dave was a wonderful and communicative host!
