It is in a small community of larger plot mini farms along a secluded section of Stover Creek. This rustic and well-maintained chink log cabin is in its own valley and neighbors are out of view, even in winter months. The large, screened porch, with a luxurious hot tub, faces the woods. The relaxing sounds of nature and rushing water will wash away the worries of city life. Two king-sized bedrooms, large loft and sofa beds provide sleeping for up to 6 adults comfortably. Two large bathrooms and a washer and dryer provide facilities for all guests’ cleaning needs. The kitchen is well appointed, including a large refrigerator, a dishwasher and a full-size gas range and stove. There is super-fast fiber Internet, phone service through ETC, large smart TVs in the bedrooms and living room, and central heat and air. The atmosphere from a real wood burning stone fireplace, with a gas starter, makes it feel like camping without 'roughing it.' Firewood is provided. This wonderful retreat is in the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area of the Chattahoochee National Forest but is still only an hour and a half drive from Atlanta. There are lots of fun things to do in this area. Hiking abounds: the Benton MacKaye and the Appalachian Trails heads are about 12 miles away on Springer Mountain, and there is numerous hiking trails close by that lead to several waterfalls, a swinging bridge, and spectacular mountain views. Fishing opportunities in the numerous trout streams and in area mountain lakes are plentiful and cater to all skill levels. The kayaking and tubing opportunities on the Cartecay river and Toccoa river are very close by, and the shuttle services are inexpensive and easy to navigate. More challenging guided white-water rafting is a short drive away, as well. Mountain bike trails and horseback riding are also easy to locate and enjoy. Beautiful downtown Ellijay is about 15 miles away. Ellijay has numerous antique shops and art galleries and small eateries. Ellijay is host to an apple festival in October, while the numerous orchards are open all year long and have tours, some offer hayrides and petting areas for the kids. The city of Blue Ridge is about 25 miles from this cabin. Blue Ridge offers old-fashioned train rides along the Toccoa River and plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy as well. The entire area is rich with history and southern culture and charm. The mountains of northwest Georgia are not overly touristy or trashy. The locals have character are pleasant and eager to please visitors. Simply driving through this naturally beautiful area is a scenic adventure. Come see for yourself, and I’m sure you’ll have a difficult time keeping this place a secret! The cabin is cozy without being too small. The hot tub is a wonderful amenity, as is the wood-burning fireplace. We also love the gas stove/range in the kitchen. The furnishings are comfortable. We also love the seclusion.This year we had a concern about the hot tub (Eric replaced the old one this year). I posted a note in the VRBO app and Eric got right back to me, explained what was happening, and allayed our concerns.Eric was also concerned about us coming up this year, given the inclement winter weather we expected this past weekend. We assured him we were coming, and he explained what we needed to do in the event of a power outage, given the home is on a well and if there were no power, there would be no water. We had no issues with the power despite two days of extreme cold and frozen precipitation.We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back next year. ##### Ian K. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Eric was easy to contact- but be aware there is ZERO Wi-Fi once on that last mile. The hot tub was used once, and the water was definitely hot! We really loved the variety of games in the closet, and enjoyed playing Clue late nights. The beds were super comfy,(although high, -stools are provided if needed).The kitchen amenities were wonderful-loved the new gas stove, toaster-air fry oven, (would've preferred a Keurig). It was nice to have the 'little things' supplied- paper towels, tinfoil, spices, towels, extra blankets. The big downfall for us was the 1.4 mile road to get TO the cabin. If we didn't have the Nissan Rogue, most normal cars or large SUV's would NOT have safely made that trip! I wish that part was disclosed in the description. It caused us a LOT of anxiety each time we had to travel in/out- especially at night. It was secluded, cozy, and well-equipped. Our family enjoyed every minute. The owner welcomed us with a message in the app and phone call on the home line ensuring we located the cabin okay, was quick to respond when we requested info regarding the hot tub (temperature is controlled remotely by home owner), and ensured all of our needs were met.We thoroughly enjoyed walking down to the creek, spending time by the campfire, lounging in the hot tub after a day of hiking, cooking out on the grill and eating on the porch, and playing board games. ##### Alexis R. Came in at dark after driving a while and I felt like I was taking my Acura off road. The road wasn’t too rough but it is tight with the bushes and limbs growing. Unfortunately a storm came through and shut off power which left us with no water, WiFi or call service. We decided to pack up and head home early. Host was very responsive.
