It's where hand-painted antique armoires complement sumptuous leather reclining sofas...where old-time barn doors conceal 'smart' televisions...and where charming printed quits cover butter-soft sheets and indulgent memory foam mattresses. Featured in the 2017 Door County Showcase of Homes, this cottage is all new construction on the beautiful, wooded Green Bay shoreline. This open-concept home features real hickory wood floors, two-zoned heat and central air conditioning, and tons of large windows that offer amazing views of the water. Newly added in winter of 2023 is Starlink satellite internet. The spectacular open kitchen features lighted white cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless appliances and a large farm sink and a large farm sink. A massive center island offers a wine rack, Keurig and drip coffee makers and counter seating for six. The LG French door refrigerator has two separate ice makers, and the LG double oven features easy convection cooking. A large Bosch dishwasher provides quick clean-ups. The Bluebell Cottage kitchen is fully stocked with ample dinnerware, a variety of glassware including non-breakable for outdoors. Just off the kitchen is a beautiful four-season, white-washed sun porch with relaxing wicker-style furnishings, shiplap cathedral ceiling, large skylights, transom windows and a pot-belly stove for cooler nights. With its walls of windows, the sun porch is a delightful indoor spot to watch the sunset. The great room offers both dining and living room areas in one expansive yet cozy space, crowned by a large stone fireplace with barn doors that conceal a flat-screen, smart television just above the mantel. Luxurious leather reclining sofas and "sink'in" chairs, plus a soft oriental carpet provide the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the water. The main floor features a large master bedroom with huge windows overlooking the bay. The master bath combines granite, charming barn lights, Carrara tile and an indulgently spacious walk-in shower. A second guest room on the first floor overlooks the wildflower meadows, and is adjacent to a full bathroom. The patio at Bluebell Cottage is the place to be for relaxation and magnificent water views. The patio features a large charcoal grill, soft outdoor lighting, a large table, umbrella and chairs for ten. A charming stone staircase leads to a generous pier with a swim ladder. The pier is an ideal spot for all day water fun, and to enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. A fire pit and light-weight, Adirondack-style chairs complete the tranquil outdoor setting. Upstairs at the cottage is a large guest room with hand-painted furniture, a barn wood headboard, and a private bathroom that features a sun tunnel for exceptional lighting without ever flipping on a light switch. The star of Bluebell Cottage's second floor is the 'bunk room,' which features four extra long, spacious bunk beds. While perfect for youngsters, the bunk room can comfortably used by adults as well. The bunks, made of solid wood, feature an easy staircase, rather than a ladder, to reach the upper beds. Each spot has its own cubby space with outlets for recharging phones plus an individually-controlled bunk light. Just off the bunk room is a large bathroom with two vanities, a walk in shower, and lots of storage space. Both upstairs bedrooms feature beautiful views of the water. The second floor also offers a spacious bonus room, with a large flat screen television and plenty of room to spread out for rainy day board games. The bonus room is carpeted, and showcases charming dormers. All Bluebell Cottage beds feature memory foam mattresses, velvety-soft sheets, generous pillow and comforters. All bathrooms contain fluffy white towels, bath mats, hair dryers, hand soap and make-up remover wipes. A convenient first floor laundry features a large washer and dryer. The home is located a short walk from beautiful Murphy Park, which offers a sand beach and public pier. Wedding parties posing for pictures by the water are a common site at Murphy Park. A five minute drive north from Bluebell Cottage leads to charming Egg Harbor, with its picturesque park and harbor, shopping and restaurants. There is much to do in Egg Harbor and beyond. Door County is ideal for family gatherings or adult getaways year round. Summer in Door County is all about the water: swimming, boating, fishing and more. In the fall, the crisp air and amazing red and gold foliage are the stars. Winter offers charming storefronts glowing with holiday lights, and cozy nights be the fire. The sunsets are extraordinary. The backyard was very quiet to enjoy the rhythm of the lake. Everything was clean, roomy, a bathroom for every bedroom and just about every room with an incredible view of the water. The kitchen table was large enough to accommodate all nine of us at once for meals. Enjoyed the puzzle wall in the game room. We had easy driving access into Egg Harbor and surrounding parks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lynn was amazing in responding to questions and we appreciate that she genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. ##### June C. When we were at the cottage we enjoyed views of the lake and gathering around the large kitchen island and table for cooking, talking and enjoying each others company. This home was very clean, comfortable and had plenty of space to accommodate our family. The views were incredible especially at night with the sunsets. Each night was a little different. My only complaint was when we pulled in the driveway hadn’t been shoveled so it was hard to know where the driveway was. We also had dog food that was left on the carpet in the living room. It's worth knowing that this is a rental house, not someone's residence that is occasionally rented out. Broken screens let in a lot of bugs, bathroom fans not working, squeaky doors, limited pots and pans, no bathroom supplies provided (would have been nice giving the daily price). In other words, the house isn't lived in, so normal fixes haven't been made. Would be easy for the owner / property management company to make this house out go from great to exceptional. ##### Robert B. We decided to do it up big in Door County and Bluebell Cottage did not disappoint. The property is first rate and our entire group loved it. The sunsets over the bay were amazing and all the rooms were fantastic. I could go on and on, but not enough space. We are already thinking about a future group event at this same property. ##### James D. The indoor space and outdoor truly live up to everything written in the description. Most tourist and restaurant locations are within a 15-20 minute drive which made it easy to bop around and come back to view the sunset. Our only issue were the gnats that took over the kitchen at times, but we were warned of this with being on the lake and anytime a door was left open they found it! It did not deter from any enjoyment however, and we all had a wonderful time. thank you so much! ##### Angela D. Every bedroom and living area has an incredible view of the water. Each room is spacious and there are plenty of spaces for gathering together or spending some alone time. The closeness to the county park is huge draw, though the water can be enjoyed right on the property. Plenty of seating and nice appliances. The amount of natural light in this home is stunning. The layout of the gorgeous house gave each family member beautiful and spacious rooms to relax and wind down every day. Location of the house was excellent for many daytrips throughout the county. Every evening was spent at the lakeshore watching the sunset! The home is well equipped to make everyone feel right at home. The hostess communicated throughout the planning process and our entire stay. She answered all questions promptly and accommodated a few special requests and referrals.
