Guests have stated they can access internet perfectly fine for work, play, etc. The island can have internet down (just like any other city!). We have purchased good Wi-Fi service and will work for most work requirements, but due to our location cannot guarantee availability 100% of the time. There are exterior cameras at the doors. These cameras are active by motion and will record anyone that walks in front of them. These recordings can be reviewed and shared with the booking platform. If we believe house rules are being violated, we have the ability to access these cameras in real time. House Rules: \- No smoking is allowed (including vaping) anywhere on the property. You will be charged for damages (including extra charges for cleaning) and an $1,000 fine. \- We follow our stated cancellation policies under all circumstances. I had to start from my hotel at 3 AM to make it to this location before dawn. Botany Bay Plantation is a nature preserve and has regulated visitor hours. Gates open 30 minutes before sunrise - I wish they'd open a little sooner as the golden hour is pretty much more than half way done by the time one can make it to the beach. Nevertheless, it's a great location to visit at sunrise, especially if there are high clouds to add drama. Recommended to visit when the tide is ebbing as you then get the shadows of the trees, which to my eyes add more depth to the image. On this day, there was a bank of low clouds that prevented too much color but it was a great sunrise to witness nonetheless. The trees have so much character and add so much to the image. It was a short walk to the beach and to Whaley's store for dinner. The beds were comfortable and the kids loved the bunk bed. They also enjoyed the gaming table which is great for the rainy day or just while we were getting dinner ready. The kitchen was very nice with plenty of room to prep and cook with sharp knives. The owners have thought of everything you may need or want, including beach towels, chairs, toys, an umbrella and even a wagon to get everything to the beach! The beach is a very short walk from the house, maybe two minutes at most. The house is lovely with comfy beds and plenty of hang out space. We spent most evenings on the porch enjoying the stars. Well stocked kitchen and beach closet. These owner have thought of everything to make your stay simple. This home screams beach house. The decor is on ping and the layout is fantastic. The home was charmingly updated and comfortable for everyone. We had a bit of an issue with the refrigerator but the hosts helped us get that sorted and with the use of the handy wine fridge we were fine. The location is convenient to walk to the beach, and very quiet at night. Really appreciated not having to lug linens and beach chairs! This was a great spot to spend a week! ##### Emma C. Ocean's 11 was just as advertised! We had a wonderful time with our two teen/tween kids and my mother. The house is stylishly decorated, clean, and had everything needed. Lots of kitchen/cooking equipment, lots of games, and plenty of beach chairs. Beds were very comfortable, and the house was only a short walk to the beach. My son is already asking to go back. Conveniently located across the street from beach access, this home is the perfect escape. The fully appointed kitchen makes this home even more of an enjoyment. updated inside with the feel of a rustic beach cottage. The hosts are very gracious and super responsive to any question. There is a public beach access (#28, I believe) within short walking distance. There were lots of chairs and a beach wagon available for use on the beach. The beds were comfortable. My 18 year old stayed in the "bunk room" which was ok for her, but its definitely designed for children. I'm sure a set of cousins or close childhood friends would love it. Across the street from one of the best beach accesses on Edisto, and an extremely short stroll to the famed Whaley’s Bar & Grill (featured in Southern Living). EVERYTHING in this cottage has been updated and the finishes are just perfect. This cottage is quintessential Edisto, relaxing, no frills, quiet, and is just what you need to soothe your soul. Our host was fantastic and reached out shortly after booking and checked in frequently throughout our stay. Also all of the beach chairs and a wagon for our haul were all provided, lightening our load significantly for the trip down. There were a few things that could be improved. The shower in the main bath had little water pressure, but we managed fine all sharing the shower off the master bedroom. But the floor of that tub was extremely slippery(!) - Could be solved with a grab bar, mat, or appliqués on the tub floor surface. The towels had a funny smell like insecticide? These were minor things. We bought extra TP and paper towels. Again, it was a great place, great location a block from the beach, liked the bookstore & gallery, and we drove to Charleston to see Ft.
