Henke is a listed Umgebindehaus full of history and atmosphere. It has been carefully restored with great respect for the original structure: original 1930s wallpapers, Jugendstil tiled stoves, historic box windows, hand‑made roof tiles, wide wooden floorboards, ornate brass door handles and the traditional Rietschel shutters all remain intact. This authentic historic character is complemented by modern art, high‑quality furnishings and plenty of space for spending time together. The entire house is always rented as a whole and offers 260 m² of living space for up to 11 guests – ideal for families and groups who appreciate aesthetics, heritage and comfort. The former merchant’s house of cloth trader Carl Wilhelm Henke stood hidden in the garden for many years before we restored it according to monument protection standards. Today, it feels like a small walk through regional architectural history from the Baroque period to modern times. At the same time, the house offers a modern and exceptionally well‑equipped kitchen with everything needed for cooking together, including a 90 cm SMEG oven, KitchenAid, professional knives, Moccamaster and milk frother. A large dining table provides space for everyone. Art and antiques from around the world, a spinet and plenty of toys for children make the house a very personal and welcoming place. In winter, the sauna in the large vaulted room invites you to relax, while in summer the spacious garden with seating, barbecue, fire bowl, climbing tree and sandbox becomes an outdoor living room. The house includes, on the ground floor, an apartment in the former block room with a double bed, bathtub, Jugendstil tiled stove and original 1930s wallpapers, as well as a small vaulted room with a double bed and the sauna. The upper floor offers a large holiday apartment with one large and two smaller bedrooms, a dining room with tiled stove, a living room with library, kitchen, bathroom and separate guest toilet. The garden in front of the house is available for your exclusive use. The entire property is always rented as one unit, so you can enjoy all rooms privately. For families, we provide two highchairs and a baby highchair, two additional children’s beds (a wooden cot 70x140 cm and a travel cot 60x120 cm) as well as plenty of toys. We place great value on regional products. Towels and curtains come from Leinen Hoffmann in Neukirch, the pressed linen bedding from Spreetex in Neusalza‑Spremberg, the glassware from Stölzle in Weißwasser and the tableware from Kahla. Einerseits die alten restaurierten Möbel, schön hergerichteten und eingerichteten Zimmer mit Kachelöfen und der stilvolle Gesamteindruck des Gebäudes. Andererseits moderne Sanitär-Einrichtungen, eine hervorragend ausgestattete Küche, Stube mit Spielen, CDs, Büchern und reichhaltiger Auswahl an Reiseführern und lokalen Empfehlungen sowie die Sauna mit Aufgußdüften, Handtüchern und Liegestühlen, sodass zum Wohlfühlen keine Wünsche offen bleiben. Da genießt man sogar mal, keinen Fernseher zu haben und sich nur über das gute WLAN oder per Radio von der Außenwelt beeinflussen zu lassen. Oct 12, 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Toller Großfamilienurlaub in besonderer Architektur Dieses Haus ist fantastisch, es fehlt an nichts und in jedem Raum findet man interessante Details. Auch für Kinder bietet das Haus eine tolle Ausstattung. Die sehr saubere Sauna war für uns das Highlight. Auch die Oberlausitz bietet viel. Die außergewöhnliche Architektur dieses Hauses setzt sich im Ort und Umgebung fort, es lohnt sich die Gegend zu erkunden. Es ist auch nicht weit nach Tschechien und Polen, hier warten noch ganz andere Eindrücke. Die Kommunikation erfolgt persönlich und unkompliziert mit den sehr freundlichen Inhabern. Besser geht‘s nicht. The house had a lot of space for all the family, and is really well equipped. The house is beautifully decorated but is also very practical for a stay with kids as well. The area around the house is very peaceful and the there is so much to explore in the local area, we had a very busy action packed holiday! The kitchen is great for cooking as it has everything you could possibly need, and there is a lot of space to eat all together. We also loved the sitting room and not having a TV made it much more enjoyable to sit and read and play games together. We also made use of the sauna downstairs which felt like our own private spa room! I would very much recommend the house for a great family holiday. ##### Daniel S. Das Haus bietet viel Platz und Freiräume für jeden einzelnen und ebenso die Möglichkeit, gemeinsam Zeit zu verbringen. Auch wenn das Wetter mal nicht mitspielt, sitzt man sich nicht auf der Pelle und kann sich z. B. in die traumhafte Sauna zurückziehen und so einen gemütlichen Tag verbringen. Besonders möchte ich noch hervorheben, dass die Vermieter mit vielen Details den Aufenthalt ihrer Gäste sehr komfortabel gestaltet haben. Die Bibliothek ist mit tollen Spielen, CDs und Büchern für groß und klein bestückt, wie ich es sonst nicht kenne. Und sehr genial fanden wir als Pfälzer und Weinliebhaber, dass Familie Umbreit ihren Gästen eine feine Weinauswahl zum Selbstkostenpreis als Versuchsprojekt angeboten hat... aus unserer Sicht eine geniale Idee, die unbedingt weitergeführt werden sollte!!! Wir sind uns alle einig: Familie Umbreit hat ein charmantes Haus mit absolutem Wohlfühlambiente geschaffen! Da das Haus etwas zurückgesetzt liegt und von sehr schmalen Gässchen umgeben ist, bietet es viel Privatsphäre und ländliches Flair. Für unsere Kinder war sehr wichtig, dass es quasi um die Ecke ein kleines, aber feines Freibad gibt , und wir Erwachsenen haben die Kafferösterei mit ihrem liebenswerten Betreibern und dem leckeren Kuchen zu schätzen gelernt. Ansonsten können wir als Ausflugsziele in näherer Umgebung den Eisernen Turm in Löbau und Bautzen mit seiner Wasserkunst empfehlen. Auch Görlitz und der Zoo dort sind sehr sehenswert. Für uns war es ein runder, erholsamer und abwechslungsreicher Urlaub in wunderschöner Landschaft, den wir sehr genossen haben. Wir sagen Vielen Dank und vielleicht auf Wiedersehen! Das Faktorenhaus ist für Menschen, die Spaß an einer stilvollen Einrichtung haben, ein ästhetisches Ambiente schätzen und die Geschichte eines Umgebindehauses spannend finden. Das Ferienhaus eignet sich wunderbar für Familientreffen. Die Küche, das Esszimmer und die Bibliothek bieten viel Raum für Groß und Klein, für Spiele, gemeinsames Kochen und gemütliches Beisammensitzen. Wir haben im Faktorenhaus ein wunderbares Wochenende verbracht, einen spannenden Stadtausflug nach Görlitz unternommen und wir sind zur Spreequelle gewandert. Es war eine schöne Zeit.
