SAND is a home away from home - a 2100 sq.ft. ground floor apartment built in 2015 with 3 bed/bath with bedrooms 2 and 3 being convertible to either KING or 2 x TWIN beds, open living, dining and kitchen area with superb beach and sea views. Perfect for families who like quiet, remote living but with many amenities within 30 minutes driving. A second apartment, SKY, is on the upper floor and offers similar amenities. The interior is modern, tastefully decorated and well equipped for cooking and entertainment. Kitchen appliances include gas stove, microwave, double door fridge/freezer, dish washer, combo washing machine/dryer. All lighting within both SAND and SKY is LED and high efficiency central air units are easily controlled from a simple thermostat. Doors are equipped with "open" detectors which will switch off the air conditioning if a patio door is left open. Our goal has been to try to conserve energy and use it efficiently for the comfort of our guests. Master bedroom features king bed, second and third bedroom features Twin beds which can be converted to King. cots are available on request. There is a pool, courtyard with barbecue and eating facility. The Games room is equipped with pool table; table tennis and dart board. The home theatre is comfortably equipped with bean bags and chairs. There is a large selection of DVDs. Situated in a protected zone, the coral beach is a turtle nesting site and opens onto a 200 x100 yard bay with living coral and a low-lying reef about 100 yards out. Typically, more than 500 baby turtles leave the beach for the Caribbean Sea every year. Many of our guests have witnessed hand release by us of turtles which were left behind in the nest. The coral beach has both sandy and rocky features which vary as wind and wave direction shift. Off the beach is the best snorkeling to be found close to the shore in Grand Cayman. A variety of top local restaurants are within 10 minutes driving and one of Cayman's best diver operations is just 5 minutes away. SAND being at ground level features direct access to the beach from the patio. SKY is very elevated with the front patio facing open countryside and the ocean-facing balcony being each 15 feet high and tempered safety glass balusters form the railings to ensure a superb view of the ocean and reef even from inside the apartment. For larger families or for special events such as weddings or family reunions, Sand and Sky together provide six bedrooms in total for a maximum party of 12 persons. The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds were firm with very soft bedding. The kitchen was well-appointed, and we made good use of the amenities onsite. The pool was perfect in the afternoons, and the view of the waves was lovely. From the property it was a short 35 minute drive to Seven Mile Beach, which afforded us many opportunities to try different restaurants along the way. The absolute highlight for us was attending two little turtle hatchlings on their way to the water. We were very glad our hosts included us. The owners were very responsive, helpful, and kind. The place was beautiful and comfortable. We especially appreciated how responsible the owners are with regard to the turtles nesting on their beach, and we were thrilled to find turtle tracks right outside our window one morning. Our kids also spotted an agouti by the property. The location of the property is great - the East End is nice and quiet, and it's just a short drive to the dive shop or to the gorgeous botanical park. Watching the kids play in the sand, search for hermit crabs and explore the tide pools was priceless. The combination of sea and Pool.was so perfect for our family. The location is also really convenient, right next to a little mini store for any last-minute things and cause to many little restaurants and beaches on the east side. The beds were super comfortable and the house had lots of room for relaxing on the couch, couches and dining space for 10 of us. And they were so a combating to our 9month old! Even provided a crib for him. My only downfall was the fire alarm went off every time we cooked lol (smoke or no smoke) which isn’t their fault. And the gas stove cooks pretty hot so it takes some getting used to! But that’s not a deal breaker for me!! We would 1000% stay here again!! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views and the exceptional quality of the SAND apartment. The spacious 2100 sq.ft. ground-floor apartment felt like a true home away from home. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, it comfortably accommodated our family. The open living, dining, and kitchen area offered superb beach and sea views, making every moment a joy. The modern, tastefully decorated interior was equipped with everything we needed, including a gas stove, microwave, double door fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and combo washing machine/dryer. The LED lighting and high-efficiency central air units kept us comfortable while conserving energy. We appreciated the smart feature that switched off the air conditioning if a patio door was left open. The master bedroom was a haven with its king bed, and the other rooms were perfect for our needs. The outdoor amenities were just as impressive, with a beautiful pool, a courtyard with barbecue and dining facilities, and a games room with a pool table, table tennis, and a dart board. We stayed in the "Sand" which was the lower level of this clean, spacious, comfortable home with a deck that led right to a private beach and gorgeous view of the water. It had every amenity you could possibly ask for. Paul and Fay Anne were perfect hosts who provided us with all the information we needed regarding the house, the amenities, restaurants, activities and more both prior to and during our stay. They were also very friendly, as were Connie and Brent, the guests who were staying in the "Sky" above us. They all made us feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we got there. It is a bit remote and requires a car to get to 7 mile beach and the tourist attractions, but that is part of its charm. If you don't mind driving a bit, it is worth it for the beauty and serenity of the surroundings. There are several restaurants and beaches within a short driving distance of the house. Beautiful homes and setting right on the water in Half Moon Bay. Really well built home, and equipped with eveythibg you need to cook inside or at the outdoor kitchen! The snorkeling right in front of the home was great, day and night. We enjoyed our whole trip, and the home really made for a great location to make family memories. We would recommend both homes to anyone looking for a less touristy option for their stay. It’s about 30 mins to “town”, which we enjoyed to be away from the crowds more. There are a couple of small convenience stores within ten minutes of the home for small things you need, and a larger supermarket about 25 mins away. This was the 7th time we had visited Grand Cayman, as a retirement gift, cruises and week long stays. Our first to stay in a more remote, quiet, serene part of the island. We traveled with 2 other couples and chose to stay away from the tourist crowded beaches and opt for less inhabited with no traffic or noise! Crescent Beach at Half Moon Bay was our piece of "absolute paradise"!!! We were amazed at all the amenities, space, atmosphere, tranquility and amazing views. The owners of the property live next door and were so willing to share their time if we had questions. It was almost like we were visiting friends! They were friendly, caring and so gracious. This home was positively spotless, luxuriously comfortable, spacious, well equipped with anything imaginable in the kitchen, and so kind to give us a welcome gift upon arrival. The views from inside made you "want" to stay outside! It was just a stones throw from the back porch to the water. The pool was inviting and used often as was the patio furniture And OMG, the outdoor kitchen was amazing! Which was attached to the movie theatre and ping pong/pool table. We did not want to leave after our fabulous week at Crescent Beach. We will be back and may share with our family next time. This home will not disappoint you and your family/friends if you visit. And if you go, tell Bugsy, their very friendly dog hello!!! ##### Vickie L. Séjour de 7 nuits en octobre 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Steve M. 29 août 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### A little slice of Heaven My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Sand at Half Moon Bay for 5 nights and were delighted with our choice of lodging. As frequent visitors to Cayman, we typically opt for different accommodations each time we visit. However, we may have to make an exception and return to Crescent Beach in the future. The condo was phenomenal! The living room and bedrooms provided breathtaking views of the ocean, beach, and wildlife. We were pleasantly surprised to see a variety of marine life, including various fish, eels, lizards, crabs, birds, and an Agouti as well as beautiful scenery. We were fortunate enough to witness 5 baby turtles being released into the ocean at night. Paul really knows what he's doing with these little guys. We were happy to witness their departure! The condo had everything we needed and more, catering to all age groups. There were various activities such as ping-pong, pool, movies, a swimming pool with accessories, and games. We had never stayed on SMB or the west side of the island before, as we tend to avoid crowds. We enjoyed our easy drive to Georgetown to shop for duty-free items (such as Yurman, Coin, and others), dine at restaurants, and visit beaches. There were several restaurants within close proximity to the condo, including the newly opened Blue Rock. We already miss Crescent Beach and can confidently say that it is one of the best accommodations on Grand Cayman! Paul was an exceptional host, and we look forward to returning in the future. ##### Steve M. The hosts live next door and were very welcoming, responsive and helpful. The condo is immaculate! We got to see baby turtles head into the ocean for the first time! Kids loved the pool.
