Chains can be rented in the neighborhood for $30/day. Our cabin features 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms sits on 1.2 acres and is located above Columbine Lake with a private hot tub and an awesome wrap around deck to enjoy the views. Just 1 mile from Purgatory Ski Resort and 25 miles from historic downtown Durango, the cabin offers privacy and seclusion and awesome wrap around decks off both levels of the cabin with views of Engineer Mountain, Spud Mountain and of course Columbine Lake. The lower deck features a private hot tub and seating while the upper deck has an outdoor dining table (seating for 6) and a gas BBQ Grill. The cabin features a second living space downstairs (with a TV), WIFI, washer/dryer, 2 car garage, and a recently remodeled, fully stocked kitchen. In summer and fall, there is a trail down to Columbine Lake (while beautiful, the lake is not stocked, so there is not fishing in the lake). Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom - Queen (Main Level) 2nd Bedroom - Queen (Main Level) Downstairs Living Space - Queen Pull Out Sofa (Downstairs) This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years). Upstairs living area is small, but downstairs is roomier. There is a major safety hazard: the walkway to the front door doesn't have a railing. It's a short drop, but you could easily break a bone with one wrong step. The kitchen needs a re-do. The insides of the cabinets were sticky and there was dried food on the dishes. We had to wash everything before we used it. The stove was a joke; the heating coils don't even fit. The original microwave is broken and the replacement is in an awkward place. The "new" refrigerator/freezer was out of operation for two days. The repairman was helpful, but we had to leave it unplugged for over 24 hours, ruining everything in the freezer and compromising the safety of items in the fridge. If the owner fixes up the kitchen, this would be a very good (though dated) rental. Close to Purgatory resort, about 30 minutes north of Durango. ##### Emily S.
