Hire prospecting supplies and try your luck at gold fossicking. Visit the museum to see a replica of the largest gold nugget ever found, stroll along Broadway with its historic Streetscape and browse the local shops, cafes and bakery or call into the Railway Hotel for a drink with the locals or for the fishing enthusiasts take a short drive to Laanecoorie. Return to the comforts of the cottage relax on the back porch and take in the sights of the local wildlife and plan your next day. Everything is provided and we felt right at home there. The location is quiet, with lots of bird-song in the morning so a cup of tea on the back porch is a great way to start the day.Dunolly is in the middle of the Vic goldfields so take lazy day visiting Maldon, Tarnagulla and/or Bealiba to get a feel of its history. The owner was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us. It had everything we needed, linen, a full kitchen, washing machine, electric bbq, and TV. The rooms had plenty of space, with 2 double beds, a single bed and a pull out couch. The owner even kept a blanket, food bowl and water bowl for our doggie. The town of Dunolly was very welcoming. Great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle. ##### Melissa F.
