Oasis on Belmont Lane is located in the suburb of Sunshine and enjoys stunning harbour and city views from all bedrooms and living areas. A popular short stay holiday home for those seeking quality accommodation. The home boasts several large living areas, including open-plan kitchen, dining and living area plus separate formal lounge and is exquisitely-appointed throughout. There are four large bedrooms, the master with ensuite. In total, there are three modern bathrooms, one of which offers a luxury freestanding soaking bath. The home is an entertainer’s and holidaymaker’s delight, with easy indoor/outdoor flow. The outdoor living spaces include a large courtyard with outdoor fire and BBQ, award-winning gardens and lawn. There is even a customer-built children’s playhouse. There is off-street parking for one or two vehicles in front of the garage and beside the garage. There is a private entrance to the home and unlimited Wi-Fi for guests. The home is located just a short drive from the city and is an ideal space to relax in after a day enjoying Dunedin’s many attractions. All areas of the home are included, except only the downstairs drawing room and the upstairs cupboard containing cleaning supplies. Musselburgh is a sunny suburb located in the southeast of the city centre, at the narrowest point where the Otago Peninsula joins to the rest of the South Island. The suburb's main street, Musselburgh Rise, contains the suburb's small retail area, consisting of a bakery, a takeaway shop, hairdresser, doctor, dentist, pharmacy, fish shop and a florist. This shopping area and the southern flank of the Rise is sometimes considered a separate suburb, Sunshine, formerly known as Goat Hill. The northern side of the Musselburgh Rise is skirted by another main thoroughfare, Portobello Road. This road joins with the southern end of Portsmouth Drive close to the northeastern point of the rise, and continues across the causeway at Andersons Bay Inlet. Close to the junction is a large memorial stone to the Taranaki Māori prisoners of the New Zealand Land Wars who were transported south to Dunedin, many of whom constructed the causeway and much of Dunedin's foreshore roads as forced labour. A branch railway ran along Portobello Road in this area from the 1870s until 1912, and rail links continued to the suburb until the track were lifted in 1928. Musselburgh is an easy 5 - 6 minute drive to the central city, University, and Hospital, 5 - 6 minutes drive to local beaches, right at the beginning of the Otago Peninsula and within 2 - 5 minutes walking distance of other amenities. Dunedin has an extensive bus service and taxis are easily ordered by phone. There is a water rill at the front of the property which will be covered when young children are staying. When we arrived, it was very smelly until we could open up all the windows to air it out. Although it has the bedrooms to host a group of 8 (we were only 6), there is not enough hot water to fill a bathtub which is offered let alone showers and dishes. The master bathroom shower was unusable because of an inoperable shower head. Amenities including shampoo, etc. were not offered. There was inadequate seating for us too all be together at the same time. The nespresso coffee machine could barely make one cup.
