We had a fun time. If you like rustic, this resort is for you. The pool was well maintained. They have a game room. Equipment is dared, but the kids still had fun. We also played basketball. Separate bathroom/shower facilities are state of the art.
Nice place in a cute village. We had problems with our door code at check in but the owners responded quickly and it was fixed. We didn't have time to explore the facilities, but the property was cute. The only improvement would be the bed. We liked the mattress itself, but it was sloped down at the head. We would stay here again.
This place was very comfortable. Pet friendly so that’s a bonus for me. If you have kids there are a bunch of things for them to do. The restaurant is a quick walk from the cabin or room and the food was fantastic. I will be returning!
It was sanctuary as it is isolated from the everyday chaos that we challenge . Has all the needs and wants we crave including a restaurant grill beer and wine.
Comphy bed , coffee in room , heated pool . Escape here !

Decoration is a little older but cozy and our room was really clean and seemed well maintained. We had one of the suites which was roomy for our family of four. Staff at both the hotel and restaurant was friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was really pretty and nice for a walk. Wish we had more time to spend there and explore.
When I booked the trip, the intention was to show the kids snow. Not only did the weather not disappoint, but the Pinewoods was the BEST choice we made. The owner, Lee was beyond wonderful. The food and service in the restaurant were 5 🌟 s. If you are looking for a place to stay in Duck Creek look no further than the Pinewoods.
Beautiful setting in the mountains. Plenty of things to do onsite, swimming pool, volleyball, playground and hiking trails nearby. We rented bikes and movies and walked on the nearby trails. The restaurant was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but we had a good dinner there on Monday. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bailey at the front desk, Gary at the bike rentals and Katie our server were especially helpful. Quiet, peaceful and restful. Can't wait to go again.

Duck Creek is best described as primitive. We didn’t have much in the way of service - except a delivery of bedding for the cot when we called the listed phone number. The room was fine.
Rustic but adequate. Front desk has limited hours so could not communicate easily. There were some things left in a dresser drawer from prior traveler. Shower could use a shelf to set soap, ect. on. Bed was comfortable.
Peaceful, comfortable room. My only problem was cooling the room down after a hot day. The fan they provided helped. Ideally I might have opened the windows for cross ventilation, but I couldn’t pull/push hard enough.
Owner was having a baby so lobby and restaurant were closed. Check in info was in an envelope by the door. After a 10 hour drive and no nearby restaurants thank God I had a couple cans of soup to heat up in the microwave. Our room was called the "Ice Cave" fitting since it was so cold! Room was so small it was claustrophobic. Congrats on the baby, but have back up to run the hotel please.
We arrived and no one was in office, had to call their number, no one answered. They did call back, were instructed to grab envelope at office in a box outside with instructions how to find and access our room. The parking lot was a muddy mess, no decent parking. We cut our losses and moved on. There was no place open to eat at 5 pm. Drove 40 minutes to find something to eat.

It sure what to think
We didn’t really know what to expect and we left with the same impression. The area was beautiful, but unfortunately they were completely reconstructing the roadway into the resort. We arrived at 8pm to check in and found that we must have been “after hours”. We did get a check in instruction sheet that was left for us in the lobby and accessing the room was easy. We thought the office was open until 10.
The room was comfortable…somewhat dated, but comfortable. The WI-FI was terrible, even with multiple access points.
We were rained in so we tried the Direct TV - almost none of the channels were available to watch. We were excited that the game room had air hockey, ping pong and foosball, but they were no ping pong balls or foosballs and the air hockey table didn’t work well at all.
We were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub the first night and it was great.
Overall, we didn’t pay much for the room so this is a “you get what you pay for” scenario. We completely understand that we hit the renovation/off-season, but the combination of construction, no Wi-Fi, no TV and the lack of people at the front desk made this a very strange experience.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! We arrived during operating hours and it was closed! Front desk office was closed and my family could not gain access to our room. We could not reach anyone by phone as no one picked up our calls. We contacted hotels.com and waited in our car while they also tried to contact the property. They were disconnected multiple times as well. Someone finally got back in touch with us and said our reservation was missed or overlooked, but that if we could wait, someone would come back out to get us to our room. On top of this, the roads to get into the property were packed with snow and our car was slipping and got stuck on the thick layer of snow and ice. Again, no one was there to assist and there should have been a warning about booking at any time there's a possibility of snow. You WILL get stuck if you're not driving 4WD. The person we spoke with from the property agreed to refund us because at this point it was getting dark and we were scared we'd be stuck in our car in the snow. It has been over a week and we still haven't received the refund. I cannot emphasize enough what a horrible and nerve-wracking experience this was, being up in the mountains as it got darker and darker, having no one answer our calls, and our wheels spinning in at least 4 inches of packed snow with our young children in the car.
I booked for 2 nights and I specifically informed them we will check-in late and I even called and I was told by a cheery lady that it's perfectly okay to check in late, everything we needed will be picked up at the lobby. So we arrived at around 10:30-10:45 PM, it snowed a day before so there's probably like 4-6inches on the area, the main office was closed and an envelope with our last name was on the desk by the entryway. it says our last name and the cabin number, I opened the envelope and it contains a direction to our cabin, receipt and hours of services but NO KEYS! We thought the cabin would be open so we headed to the cabin, there was no parking, 2 cars were already parked on the side and the map says there's another one behind the cabin but we could not see the road well because of the snow. The cabin was locked!!, so we called the late check-in number -NO Answer! We called maybe 20x left messages NO callback! We ended up looking for another place and in our quest, we got stuck in the snow and got stranded there for 7 harrowing hours until dawn when the snow plower came and another good samaritan came and pulled us out. No management on site! Drew who finally answered was apologetic but scoffing, he said the person working last night has autism and is not good at dealing with people, guess what he just opened the cabin and didn't leave the KEY! The cabin was cold, no firewood, heater not working on the first floor!! We left the place and still got charged!!
: « Aunt Sue’s »
The pie was great! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was beautiful.

It was disappointing due to the lack of parking. I had to park on the main road because everyone had too many cars there. Also my truck got hit and they have no cameras around the building so nothing could be done/ identified. Overall the room was great until i got locked out because they said their computer malfunctioned. Luckily it was during the day and not at night when the office closes.
Nice friendly place. Loved the big room with ceiling fan. Nice and roomy and comfortable. Has fridge, microwave in a forest environment. Older places so sound travels.
