The property is absolutely lovely, and it really felt like our home away from home! We sat around the table for hours talking and laughing! We walked down to the river and enjoyed nature! The historic Bowman House (1762) and the Pownalborough Court House (1761) are near by and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. We did some antique shopping, visited the Botanical Gardens, toured Old Fort Western (1754) in Augusta and visited several lighthouses. We were so sad to leave and enjoyed every minute of our time in Maine. We stayed 9 days at the farm house while visiting our sons family in Richmond. The house is very comfortable with plenty of room. My husband left early to return to work leaving our daughter and I at the house and we felt very safe. Everything you need is easy to find in the house. One idea to share is if you are coming to watch tv you might want to bring your fire stick to give you more options. However we did not come to watch tv so it was no biggie for us.
