A great spot for a peaceful stay, yet only minutes from the facilities in Dornoch. With unspoilt views over the Dornoch Firth ideal base for relaxing and for travelling further afield throughout the north Highlands. To the north is direct access into Camore Woods (walks from 30 minutes to 2 hours). Across the road is the Lochans, where you can hire rods and fish for trout and practice your golf on the driving range or pitch and putt course. Lower Whinhill is a warm, clean and comfortable cottage with lovely views across the Dornoch Firth. We particularly enjoyed watching the wide variety of birdlife in the vicinity, ranging from chaffinches, yellow hammers, hooded crows and a pheasant in the garden to oyster catchers and lapwings in the fields beyond. Dornoch itself is a charming place, with lots of little shops to explore, not to mention the beautiful cathedral with its stunning stained glass windows and the wonderful beach with plenty of rock pools at low tide.
