Perfect location - from kitchen or front deck you can see both the Ocean, sunrise and waves as well as the Bay, sunset and the boats. Since its oceanside, you don't have to cross Rt 1 with your beach gear. Easy peasy to go back and forth to the beach all day since its only \~100 yds away. Same street as the Hyatt, Gold Leaf, Nalu and Rusty Rudder. Wonderful beach house feel with 20 foot A-frame ceilings on the second floor and natural wood interior. Kitchen opens to a second floor deck with great views of the ocean and bay. Large rear deck ideal for eating crabs, BBQ get togethers or just sunbathing. All new flooring through out the house. The large open second floor is good for just relaxing or hanging out with a group of people. Large new kitchen with two refrigerators and all utensils. Beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace. Wifi access, smart tv and digital cable. New Hot tub. First floor includes large master bedroom which has a new king bed, updated private bath and a sleeping extension with a queen, bunk beds, and trundle. The other two bedrooms each have new queen beds. Spacious outdoor shower under back deck. Plenty of storage for kayaks, surfboards and fishing poles. Note: House number used to be 16A and with the 911 updates the number has been changed. Problems are dirty dishes in the cupboards; we had to clean inside of one of the ovens before use, oven knob fell off, mouse poop in utensil drawer, dishwasher soap despiser door broken-missing, dish washer did not clean dishes, grill was extremely dirty cleaned as best we could. The carpets turned our socks and feet black. Door to master bedroom broken. Microwave was unplugged when we arrived, found the exhaust fan does not shut off. Dishes are cracked chipped. There was a charge for them having a hot tub and a sign that said not to use it, I assume because of the scum in it. I do believe a refund for that should issued.The washer had wet clothes remaining in it. The closet was still broken in one of the rooms. The knob on the stove falls off and it was hard to turn the stove off. The temperature fluctuated the whole time we were there. It was 80 degrees the day we got there in the house. There is also no pressure in the outside shower. It did have a large open plan upstairs with many places to sit, which was great. Our golden retriever loved the property -- of course, so did we. Everything with this house was exactly as described. It felt like home from the moment we arrived. Having never been to Dewey Beach I was unsure what to expect. But the house is a 50 yard walk to the beach, across the street from a marina, and walking distance to everything you need. House was clean, beds comfortable and checking in was easy. Had a couple questions for homeowner and she responded immediately. We rented the property for this past week for my daughter's wedding. The location was perfect because the wedding was across the street. We had a small Welcome Party and After-Wedding breakfast and the layout was perfect. There are two nice size decks, one looking out to both the bay and ocean. The kitchen is a very nice open size, perfect for entertaining! The new furniture in the livingroom was nice as well. Anytime I had to reach out to the owner, Jen, she was very quick to reply and answer our questions. The only issue was a surplus of ants in the kitchen. We did use traps and were mindful of crumbs and food being left out, but it wasn't preventable. I would think a professional spraying, etc., would be helpful. You do want to be sure to bring your bed linens, towels, etc. The house sleeps 12 with 3 bedrooms. The madter bedroom has a king bed and then a side nook that has a queen bed, bunk beds and futon. Privacy would not be great for separate couples, but that room would be great for a big family. Also, we brpught a dog, so it worked well with having a crate. Overall, our stay was great, the location was super convenient to many restaurants, storescand the wedding venue. We would definitely stay again and hope to do so! ##### Felicia S. Great time with dog, teens and their friends! it was great to be able to get a partial week in summer, so hard to get everybody away at the same time! My kids were able to invite their friends, and loved the big sleeping nook in the primary bedroom! with the bathrooms on the first floor with the bedrooms and laundry, everything was so convenient! There’s so many places to hang out upstairs in the living area with a front and a back deck there was always outdoor space available, no matter the time of day you could find something comfortable, the beach and bay views from front deck was an absolute highlight! Lovely to have coffee in the morning while the teens slept! The 2 mile walk to Rehoboth made boardwalk activities, accessible, as did the jolly jolly trolley just across the street by the Hyatt. Staying in a somewhat older home with a cool 80s vibe, was very relaxing with teens who can be so hard on things! The hot tub was a massive bonus! a little hard to get in and out of for the middle age set, as it was quite high off the ground, and a little far for the stairs that are provided, but certainly manageable! The fireplace was such a fun bonus on the one dark, and stormy day that we had, it was so cozy to read by, watch, movies, play games and do puzzles, we may have enjoyed our rainy day the most! Hope to come back next year! When I had a question about ceiling fan function, the owners got right back to me, and were extremely helpful! ##### Megan C. Just a short walk to the beach and restaurants so no driving needed. If you like to run there's a nice long uninterrupted path. It's also far enough from the corner and any of the noisier places so we slept well which was nice with little kids. The kitchen pantry was well stocked with seasonings and there was lots of room to store things we brought with us and all sit around the table. The rest of the house though was really subpar. When we pulled in the trash was absolutely overflowing onto the ground and animals had eaten through the various bags. While the owner sent someone to take care of it, it required multiple follow ups. Similarly, the outdoor shower had remnants of previous guests's bar soap and clearly had not been rinsed of any sand. The owner did send out someone to take the trash out of the shower but never rinsed it out for us. The entire house is shag carpeted. It's very dated and smells musty at best, like urine at worst (much time was spent on the ground with the baby). We kept finding items from previous renters in corners and it just never felt clean. The shower in the master bathroom has mold or mildew all over the ceiling and the tiles are breaking apart. Lots of scratch and bang marks all over the walls. The grill does not function properly - which is probably for the best since there are no long handle grill tools. We appreciated our time so close to the beach but will likely await updates to rent again. ##### Jackie A.
