There are many restaurants close by and stores where you can buy all you need. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach which was very helpful. The condo is located right next to one of the public pools available which was great. We were never bothered by noise or anything like that. The condo itself was very clean and everything was working properly. I did see previous reviews about problems with the sliding door, but we had no problems with it at all. Check-in was smooth and quick and having someone at the gate 24/7 was a bonus. A map was also included to help you find things within the community which really helps with the checking in and checking out process. Would definitely stay at this location again. ##### Erika R. Easy access to walk across the street to a pretty much dedicated beach. Our unit was on the pool and VERY close to the Harbor. This was great. We took a water taxi to HarborWalk village. The unit itself needs a little attention. The blinds on the sliding door and the living room windows were broken and missing pieces and the sliding door was almost impossible to open and close. It could also use some additions to the bowls, etc in the kitchen. On a good note, the Modular sofa is AMAZING! If needed 2-3 adults/teenagers could Sleep on it and 3-4 teens/kids. ##### Sara S. Reviewer Comments: We love Sandpiper Cove; however, I would not want to stay at unit 9240 again unless there are some changes. There are absolutely zero curtains in the master bedroom and the sun sets right into the room, coming straight through those cheap blinds. At 5 something in the morning, it’s super bright, tricking your brain it’s time to wake up. I eventually bought some foil to cover the windows, winch helped. Worst sleep ever! There were also a bunch of little roaches. Maintenance came and sprayed what they could but really had no control over the situation. They spray every Friday outside by a professional company. The trash can did not have a lid and we would wake up to a ton in there so would either have to take the trash out all the time of close the trash bag. In addition, the glass sliding door to the balcony was so hard to open. Maintenance said that the rollers most likely needed to be replaced and they would contact the owners. Lastly, this is not a unit that pays for the beach chair and umbrella rentals, so keep that in mind when you book. It’s about $50 a day for rental. The TV was messed up but maintenance took care of it quickly and put another one in the master bedroom. The walk wasn’t bad at all. The staff is great and it’s a very short walk to the restaurant, which is a must to visit. Will definitely stay at Sandpiper Cove again because we love it; however, would not stay at this unit again until they at least get blackout curtains installed in the bedroom and fix the sliding door. Jun 17, 2023 #### Good location, but condo 9240 needs work. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The first night the fire alarm started beeping and needed a new battery. Three nights later the fire alarm went off randomly. The sliding glass door needs replaced because you could barely open it. The back patio is slanted and looks like it needs partially replaced. There is no pantry for groceries. The unit didn’t have any knives so you couldn’t cut anything. The unit didn’t come with chairs and an umbrella for the beach. We still love Sandpiper Cove and will be back, but will choose a different unit next time. ##### Matthew W. Reviewer Comments: I knew I was on second floor but there are 12 stairs leading up to the condo which was arduous for me. The micro wave did not work so they gave me a loaner. It took over a month to replace the full size one. One of the lamps in the living room was missing a shade. It took over a month and they finally replaced both lamps. I l liked the original lamps much better. Other minor items were taken care of in a timely fashion and done properly. We had not been to Destin in 20 years. It had changed alot and we had a fantastic time. Our rental was outstanding. Located near the pool and very quiet. We took our dog and had a terrific time. Reviewer Comments: We love staying at Sandpiper for location and security. The unit was not our absolute favorite but adequate. The paint is pretty rough and the blinds were literally falling apart. The furniture was not super comfortable either.. The unit could certainly use some updating and upgrading, but it was okay. For the rental price i would rate it about 2.5-3 stars. The price was just a bit high for the accommodations we had. The atmosphere of Sandpiper is one we continue to come back for, some units are just better than others..
