The building is very well maintained with mid-century period decor and our room was large and comfortable. The spring fed pool is always 80deg and there is a convenient sauna but no hot tub, unfortunately since it’s cold when sun sets. Yes, the location is amazing, yes it is from the '20s (as in 1920s) with a long history and lots of stories. But what impressed us the most were the people. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. Because of them a stay at this hotel feels like a special event. We were given a suite on the towers, which was quite large. The problem was that in those days the elevator was out of service and we had to carry two huge suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. Furthermore, there is carpet everywhere and the room smelled a little bit (I think the reason was the old carpet).
