Spectacular lakefront home, equipped with every comfort for your entire family to enjoy their mountain paradise. A coveted lot overlooking Sand Run Lake and the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Large custom kitchen with granite countertops and island that is set up for large groups to entertain with two dishwashers, warming oven, double oven, food prep sink, additional freezer and refrigerator in garage. Dining area seats 12. Spacious living room with plenty of seating around a large stone fireplace. You can enjoy spectacular outdoor views from the living room, kitchen, dining area and loft, courtesy of the bevy of large windows extending from the floor to the vaulted ceilings. A rec room with wet bar, pool table and huge flat screen TV, provides another lounging option. Mud room with heated tile floors and plenty of room to store your winter and summer outdoor equipment. The expansive backyard overlooks the lake and includes a private playground, 2 canoes with life jackets and oars, hot tub, fire pit and lounge chairs positioned with relaxation in mind! Once you experience the Lakeside Refuge, you will never want to leave. No Pets. This is not a pet friendly home. Installed in 2023 whole house generator and central air! Guests have access to a 2-car garage.

This home is located in the Old Timberline Gated Community where you will have access to two lakes, an exclusive access to Dolly Sods trail head as well as access to Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge Trail heads and miles of maintained trails around the conservancy and lakes within the community.
All Canaan Realty guests have complimentary access to the privately owned Mirror Lake Recreation Area. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, biking and more! Canoes, pedal boat, kayaks, SUP boards, life jackets and oars are provided at no additional charge to our guests.
Lakeside Refuge is located about 5 miles from Mirror Lake.

#### From 19 to 93, all had a wonderful time
Our extended family group of 16 found this home to be ideal for cooking, hanging out, and as a base for skiing and hiking. We were here between Christmas and New Years 2024, which was a warm spell. We are hockey players and skaters, and many of us enjoy cross country and downhill skiing. The warm weather killed any hope of skating on the lake or cross country skiing at White Grass. But we skied at Timberline and hiked extensively in Dolly Sods. We cooked up a storm for many meals and really enjoyed the ample and well-stocked kitchen and big dining table. We made great use of the hot tub and often had a blazing fire going in the hearth. All in all, a great stay.

#### Couple things
We found dirty underwater in one bedroom chest drawer. Having to pick up a key and only having one key was hard for 11 people. We had to make sure that everyone had a way back in. Having to not only strip the beds but do a load of laundry (towels) I’ve never had to do that before.

#### perfect family gathering
This home gave our family everything we hoped for as we gathered from numerous states to celebrate Thanksgiving and my mother's 90th birthday. The space worked beautifully. The outside views and access to the lake and trails was fantastic. The kitchen is well prepared for cooking and serving a large group. We are very glad we stayed at this VRBO.

#### Wonderfully Equipped House
This house really has everything you'll need for a winter getaway. Plenty of space and in a great location. The property managers were incredibly accommodating and even allowed for an early check-in and later check-out. Everyone enjoyed our winter ski trip in this house!

#### Lovely pleasant getaway.
We loved the lakeside location, and the weather was a nice August retreat from the hot/humid area where we came from. Plenty of reading material (Highlights and National Geographic magazines) and entertainment - foosball table, playground, canoes. Lots of different outdoor spaces to sit and socialize.

#### Truly a refuge
The location was exactly what we were searching for, secluded waterfront with room for our whole family. The house is gorgeous and comfortable. All sorts of yard games are available and we used them. The fishing is Sand Run Lake was great. We enjoyed the canoes and the trails. The roads are quite hilly and can get dusty for running but there are lots of nearby trails to try. We hope to return!
