Just under one mile drive to Timberline Mountain Lodge or approximately 550 yard walk from Golden Bear Inn to the Tunnel on Winterset Trail.

Golden Bear Inn is a three bedroom duplex with a loft. Off the master bedroom and the family room is a deck with a four person hot tub. In the family area is a wood burning fireplace and cable TV. Off the dining area is another larger deck with gas and charcoal grill and comfortable furniture.
The house is supplied with linens and cookware. All you need is food and yourself. We enjoy it most for the opportunity of hiking with our dogs. Trails begin immediately behind the house. A riding stable is about 300 yards from the house. Less than 200 yards away is a tennis court and pond.
This home is 6 miles from the Canaan Valley Resort and Ski Area. Whitegrass Cross Country Skiing is 5.5 miles away. We cannot control weather and skiing conditions.

#### Cozy comfortable cabin
Perfect cabin for a family ski trip to Timberline Mountain. Convenient to slopes, well furnished kitchen. Lots of space in living area and kitchen for relaxing and socializing. Very clean. Only caveat is that only one of four house keys actually opened main door. Probably needs new lock or new keys. Also saw this mentioned in a previous review. But would stay again anytime and will consider going back for a summer trip to enjoy this beautiful valley and house

#### Nice place but management company was unresponsive
The place was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great, as was the location near the fishing/swimming pond. Peaceful and great for dogs. The upstairs bedrooms were very warm, but we had been warned about that in the description. The worst part was the failure of the realty company to address issues. We called the day after we arrived to report that the keys were not working well and it took us ten minutes to get the door open. We also noted the dining room light didn’t work. They said they would send someone out but never did.

#### Nice, comfortable get-away.
Most everything was great with a few areas to make it even better. 1) Wifi only allowed three devices to be on line at one time. 2) Pillows were very flat, so bring your own. 3) Cleaning fee is part of the charge, however guests are required to strip beds, place them and towels in the washing machine, and take trash with you.

#### Clean, Well Kept and Great Location
We stayed at the Golden Bear Inn over Thanksgiving weekend and it was lovely. The location is convenient to all Canaan Valley has to offer, and easy to get in and out of. The condo is well-provisioned and clean. It was wonderful to have cable, wifi, a hotter and washer and dryer so we could stay in for a day as well. The only things we could ask for are a king sized bed in at least one of the rooms and a whisk in the kitchen.

#### Great location and the house itself was clean.
My family and I thought the house was perfect for us. We went hiking and biking. The guys went fishing in the pond. The hot tub was a great way to finish the day. The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were also comfortable.

#### Nice space uncomfortable beds
Rental agents repeatedly made excuses for no wifi at our rental and were ineffective meanwhile wifi worked fine next door. The home is spacious and somewhat well equipped. Furniture in the living room is comfortable but the beds were very uncomfortable, old and in need of replacement. Our 17 year old had back spasms after sleeping on one of the upstairs beds. Ample towels and blankets, tasteful decor.

#### Vacation hiking and relaxing!
The Golden Bear Inn was an awesome location for are hiking vacation, with our dog! It had all the amenties needed and being in the mountains, in the Canaan Valley, near Davis, W. VA, a 10 degree difference in temperature, under where we live. The hot tub was an added bonus, after a hard day's hiking! Wildlife abounds! Enjoy! Thanks!
