It's a gem of a house, designed by renowned architect Eric Moser, with interiors by an HGTV insider. It's a classic coastal design, with high ceilings, big windows and lots of outdoor living spaces. There's a master bedroom downstairs that opens directly onto the deck and an upstairs bedroom that's washed in natural light. Outside, there's a wrap around deck with a dining table and shower. There's WiFi, of course, and a shady fenced yard so bring your pup. It's a short bike ride or even shorter drive to The East End and Main public beaches, golf course, Audubon Bird Sanctuary, and DI town center. The house comes with 3 bikes, so you can get around the island like a local. P.S. Sitting in the screened in porch area was one of our favorite things about it where we gathered and just enjoyed to outdoors. The weather was perfect to be either in the shade or out under the canopy of trees. We did not want or need anything else as everything was provided for our stay other than our meals, which we enjoyed on the island. I would recommend it here 10 out of 10 times and would stay here again. It captured a world on its own and was a lovely sanctuary away from reality for a spell. It was clean, comfortable, and beautifully-decorated. I love the neighborhood. So peaceful. Hard to imagine ever staying in a condo when gems like this cottage are available. And same goes for the island. A real community feel here and the beach (we chose the middle public beach) was almost to ourselves. We took the ferry to gulf Shores to check it out and I cannot begin to tell you how glad I was to have chosen Dauphin Island. If you like bumper to bumper traveling, loads of people, touristy shops and mini golf, and chaos....go to Gulf Shores. If you want to feel like a local, peaceful R&R, and an adequate choice of restaurants and small shops, go to Dauphin Island. And definitely stay at Henry’s House. Well stocked with towels and kitchen utensils etc. Was a pleasure to cook there. Definitely a drive to the beach if have kiddos (mine are 5 and 7) We tried out all the beaches....loved west the best. Went ghost crabbing one night, to the aquarium and on a boat tour (Duke at the Dauphin Marina...highly recommend...pretty ride and just as kids were getting over it. they pull in the net and so many fish, shrimp, crabs, and jelly fish to play with) Swing on the porch was a fave. The weather did not like us but we made the best of it. A bit of a conservative area and monotone but we didn't have any incidents. Great house! Would definitely stay again! ##### Cori M.
