Newly remodeled one bed, one bath apartment/duplex on close to two acres. The home sits in a valley on the north side of Custer. Out the back door is a small creek and access to the Mickelson Trail. Across the trail is a lovely view of Forest Service land. It's a cozy spot for any vacationers. There is another review that lists a few drawbacks that we agree with, especially the bathroom door that is too long to glide smoothly on the rail, but it was a nice place to lay our head for our stay. There was some disappointment that there was a TV but no programming. Vacation is nice to get away and unplug, but my friend is not a reader and I felt like I had to entertain her as we had nothing to do otherwise in our down time. The windows didn't have coverings/curtains, which bothered my security-minded friend, who slept on the futon. I have various food allergies, so cooked in the kitchen and it was nicely equipped with the essentials. However, there were some towels left behind that in these times I didn't care for. The view out the backdoor was beautiful and overall the spot was peaceful.
