Lovingly restored, It has high ceilings, original timber floors and wide wrap around verandahs, in winter you can keep cosy and warm by the fire or enjoy a fire pit outside, and in the evening gaze up at the stars as clear as you’ll see them ! In summer you can take a 5 min drive to the Abercrombie River for a swim. A Separate 1x bedroom cottage with lounge/sofa bed (separate booking - Shearer's Cottage) plus camping is available for larger bookings on the property. The spacious grounds were perfect for the kids to explore, giving them plenty of room to roam and enjoy nature. Inside and out, the property was warm and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor fires—and plenty of firewood provided, which was a lovely touch. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the host was friendly and responsive. There were thoughtful touches throughout the cottage including board games, activities for the kids, and basic pantry items (including a range of spices, so appreciated). We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor areas, especially seeing the local deer and wallabies each morning. It had a charming, lived-in feel that made us instantly relax. The views were stunning—especially the sunsets, which were nothing short of magical.Our daughter was absolutely delighted by the friendly horses, playful dogs, and cheerful chickens that provided us with the freshest eggs each morning. Wildlife was abundant, adding to the authentic bush experience, and the location is perfect for visiting Wombeyan Caves or just unwinding in nature.This place is a gem for families, couples, bushwalkers, and animal lovers alike.
