A magical sight! Pink waters and blue sky, It was like sunset reversed; a feast for eyes! There are plenty of colorful salt lakes near Las Coloradas/Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan peninsula. It is just 2 hours drive away from Chichén Itzá and around 3 hours from Cancun. Public transport is scarce in this part of Mexico. We took a rental car and it was an easy and comfortable journey for us :) Once we reached Las Coloradas, we were welcomed by giant white salt mountains. Hotel staffs were the best qualities of all and we enjoyed the food from the several restaurants we visited. Restaurants don’t take reservation which was tricky so unless you plan on having dinner at 5pm when they open up or 9pm dinner. Otherwise, wait time was an average of 60 mins. We were only able to attend the magic show which was the best I have ever seen. I wish there was more than one adult pool but the week that we visited was quiet so it was fine. Entertainment really did their job even though you can tell the staff size is small, I gave them a lot of credit for their dedication to make sure everyone is having a good time. Ocean is great, clean and no seaweeds. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
