Beautiful Home & Large Yard! Welcome to “Port A Tropical Hideaway”, a beautiful vacation home with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, this two-story home can accommodate up to 6 guests. This rental gem is the ultimate getaway for family and friends with an enclosed upper patio and deck with a large, shaded backyard to allow guests to relax and enjoy. Located less than a mile from the beach and the marina, this “Old Town” prime location, just off Allister and Cotter access roads lets you explore some of the best Port A attractions has to offer. The property is also within walking distance of some of the area's most sought after restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, music venues, nightlife, art galleries and great shopping. There’s no need to worry about transportation if you’d rather leave the golf carts or vehicles behind. The city of Port Aransas offers a heated community pool, skate park, basketball courts, baseball fields, playground and beautiful park on the ship channel to watch the dolphins in the evening, all a short drive away. The backyard and front yard are lovely outdoor spaces with lush landscaping, oak trees, palm trees, and high privacy fences to enjoy. The “Port A Tropical Hideaway” owners have thought of all the details to ensure guests have the best possible experience in the property. The upstairs open concept layout of the house ensures that everyone has a seat, making it an excellent choice for entertaining your group. The leather sofa with two swivel chairs, two side tables, and an oversized coffee table completes the living room. A kitchen island with two bar chairs lies adjacent to the kitchen, and a separate dining with seating for four completes the area. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a delicious meal for family and friends. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen, each with a TV. A full bathroom is located between the two bedrooms, with the half bath located off the living and kitchen area. Should you require more sleeping space, the sofa in the living room folds out into a queen. This home also features an upper deck with a half-moon sofa, coffee table, two chairs, and an outdoor rug, creating the perfect spot to bask in the sun whilst enjoying the scenery. On the lower patio, two loveseats, coffee table, and outdoor rug provide ample space to enjoy your meals with family and friends, store your coolers, chairs, and beach toys. Don’t forget the hot / cold outdoor shower to rinse off after a day at the beach. Ample parking for 2 standard size vehicles in the driveway, 1 standard size vehicle in the garage and parking for 1 standard size vehicle parking in front of the house on the street. The homes on the property are designed so they can be rented multiple ways depending on the number of guests and rental season. The homes / apartment has separate entrances to each of the upstairs main homes, the downstairs apartment and game room. There are no interior doors or stairways leading to each. Allowing guests their own private spaces when needed. The " Port A Tropical Hideaway" is located in the heart of Port Aransas with some original homes in the area as well as newly built homes. It has a unique location in Old Town Port Aransas and many guests rent a golf cart to enhance their beach experience due to easy access to everything!!! When booking this property I had sent a message stating we were coming to fish for the weekend. The day of check in I recieved a text with check in info. While traveling and reading the info it stated no boats or trailers were allowed at the property and other arrangements must be made. NO place in the listing had this information!!! The listing stated there were 3 spots for us to park so we only took one vehicle to make sure we had room to park with the boat even if we needed to drop the trailer. We made arrangements at 11:00 pm when we arrived thanks to friends staying in the area. This 100% should be in the listing not info you receive the day of!!! The house is in a good location tucked away on a side street with very little traffic. It could definently be cleaner as there were large amounts of human hair on the pillows in our bed, while looking for a blanket in the closet I pulled down what appeared to be a urine stained sheet that may have been hidden up there from a previous guest, and we were given 2 bath towels for 4 adults X 3 days. Towels were provided promptly on request. The beds were confortable. Be prepared to do the cleaners job at check out even though you are charged a cleaning fee. You not only have to take the trash to the outside cans but must place the large cans at the road in a specific manor or be charged an extra $50\. Load washing machine and start it, load dishwasher and start it, adjust the a/c, the list was longer than I have experienced before. ##### Tawyla B. This place was an easy to get to location.. we love staying on the old part of town because you can take the golf cart everywhere. A few suggestions follow. Some staples would have been helpful: sugar, salt, olive oil. A rubber mat in the shower, we’re older and that’s pretty slippery. Some better soap, the one there had been watered down. Several utensils are missing according to the photos. A review of what’s there might be helpful. It is a well kept home and we enjoyed how quiet the area was. We were the only guest so the larger home was offered and we really appreciated the extra space. The front porch area was one of our favorite places to relax and bird watch. Our dog came with us and he was happy in the fenced backyard and he loved the front porch hanging out with us. Dog friendly home including tile floors & fenced yard. 2\. Not in high traffic area, but easy to get to restaurants, etc. 3\. TVs in bedrooms and main space which can be viewed from dining and living room. Also a DVD player so you can get a Redbox movie, if needed. 4\. Decent amount of space with nice kitchen. 5\. Electronic keypad, so you don't have to worry about keeping track of a house key. Cons: 1\. Needs some attention. Noticeable musty smell and appears to have mildew around the vent above bed in 2nd bedroom. A half bath bulb burned out - someone removed it instead of replacing. Hose at front of house (best place to rinse dog paws - outdoor shower not ideal for this) doesn't work. 2\. Communication could be better. No info on VRBO app for check-in. Didn't receive any messages until day before trip and instruction sheet indicates "no pets", although booking showed bringing dogs. Never got a response when requested verification on this. Random FYIs: There's no tiki bar. I don't know anyone who needs this, but ya know... The queen bed is very high. If you're traveling with little ones, you might need to use the fold-up bed (looks like a twin) or sleeper sofa. Takeaway: Weather wasn't great during our stay, so we couldn't fully enjoy the beach (which is pretty nice) but the house was comfy. It was good to have a place we could bring the pups and not have to keep them on leashes when they needed to go out. ##### Bridgett S.
