Located in Ocean Hill, Barefoot Babies is a beautifully decorated four bedroom home. Gather and be amazed how close this charming home is to the beach. Along with spectacular views, the screened in porch is perfect to catch cool ocean breezes or to catch up with family and friends.

Affordable and loaded with tons of amenities where even Fido is king! You may even catch a glimpse of the wild ponies strutting on by. This perfect vacation home even supplies WIFI so you can brag to your friends and family at home.

Amazing Beach House

We truly enjoyed our stay here. House was very charming and clean. You would not know it was a pet property, zero odor. Easy walk to the beach and a few stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. Great location. We enjoyed the puzzles and games as well! Highly recommend!

After reading reviews from 2023 where the owner mentioned planned updates we were disappointed to see that the home was still in need of some updating. While understanding that the home is pet friendly, we were not expecting the amount of pet hair on furniture and bedding. And the title of the property mentions views of ocean/lighthouse neither of which could be seen from the property.

Second Time Staying at Barefoot Babies

We love the location of this property. Very short walk to the beach. Great layout - love the decks and screened porch area. Well-stocked kitchen. Fenced yard - great for our German Shepherd. We really love this house and would stay again though it could use some updating - especially sanding and staining of decks.

Great spot in Ocean Hill

I had not been back to OBX since 2013 and never stayed this far north - but I think it is the best spot with easy walking to shops and restaurants and quick walk to beach. We had an amazing week of weather which made the trip super memorable. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Great place for family!

The house is great for a family vacation and great for bringing your dog. It’s close to the beach and the beach is easy to access with kids. The kitchen is well stocked and the living space was comfortable to hang out in. My family and I would stay here again!

Cleanliness

The location and accessibility the the beach was perfectly, 5 minute walk. The house is nice however very dated. My family was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the house, it definitely could have been better. The space was large enough for our family overall a nice stay. Also might be better if information shared on the site about the beach equipment that was available.

Although a very nice location, the home needs several updates. The deck needs to be redone, nails were sticking out making it dangerous for the children in our party, and the decks seemed rotted and dangerous in general prompting us to not spend much time outside. The roof leaked after a storm right into the bedroom, the microwave blipped out and we had to check the fuse box, and then finally a chair broke...too many issues, and to top it all off, the house was not the cleanest and did not even come with basics such as linens which had to be rented to an additional fee. Not thrilled!!!

Comfortable Beach Home

This is not a fancy place and the photos are several years old, but it's still well put together with no bugs indoors and no smells. The location is perfect for a quiet stay very close to the beach. Downstairs outdoor shower and mudroom were perfect for keeping beach gear and shoes away from the rest of the house. Kitchen was also perfect, nice and spacious and well stocked. Bedrooms are all very equal. We actually preferred the downstairs queen to the upstairs, more windows.

Great Location/ Quaint Beach House

Beach Babies is in a great location with easy access to the beach and also retail centers. The property itself needs a little TLC but has quaint beach house charm. The kitchen was fantastic and had anything we could have needed. There were lots of VHS tapes and a VCR/DVD player for watching movies if we fancied. We did enjoy an Indiana Jones movie one evening. Upon arrival we were very upset as the property was very dirty inside. Seemed the cleaning crew definitely didn’t do their job. We did address the issue with the rental company and they were very helpful in addressing our needs. All in all we had a great family vacation with beautiful weather.

Cute name and wonderful stay.

We absolutely had a blast. We were at the ocean almost all day every day. We also climbed up currituck lighthouse shopped and had ice cream. Google maps doesnt indicate all the shopping placed but thered really is a lot close by including a food lion. The property was clean on arrival with everything promised in the description; however, I could not see the lighthouse from the porch. This wasnt a huge deal. The porches were amazing places to just relax and wind down or relax and wake up. Only complaint is the nails on the porch stuck out a bit far and if you had socks they prob would have been ruined. I still walked in bare feet and enjoyed the porch. The hammock outside was so nice too. Me and my doggo hung out there one evening and had she not seen another dog and decided I was in danger I may have fallen asleep outside. Speaking of outside, the outside shower is so much fun 10/10 recommend. My dog didnt like it but it was the best and easiest way to get the salt and sand off of her. Overall loved our stay. If I find a different house it will be for two reasons 1.) More extended family is coming or 2.) We find an oceanfront place at the last minute. Loved this whole trip. Def recommend it. Tip for moms: if your kiddos are anniyed walking to the beach tell them to pick out their favorite house or ask them what they would name their beach house if they had one. It made the walk go.much faster.

Great Stay

Checks almost all the boxes. Loved the blast from the past VHS collection, but an investment in a new living room TV would go a long way for a rainy day. The decks could use some love since there were a few splinters and nail head ouchies. Awesome location and beach!

Nice place for location

For the price and location this is a good property. Kitchen is well equipped with anything you need. Saw previous comments on furniture but looks like outdoor furniture has been replaced. Nice that it has a fenced in area for our dog. Great outdoor decks- decking could use some love with either sanding down or adding outdoor carpets. It is suppose to be no smoking but there was a strong smoking smell ( and several ash trays) when we arrived and cig butts in the fenced in area. Overall would stay again

The house is comfortable, especially the beds, but dated. The fenced area and crate for dogs was an added convenience. We enjoyed the location of the home and easy walk to the beach.
