It was the perfect home base — a beautiful spot for morning coffees and family dinners overlooking the cocagne bay, and a short drive to so many great beaches and attractions (including Hopewell Rocks). Our kids and dog loved running around the big grassy yard and wading in the bay. The hosts were friendly and attentive. It is hard to describe what we expected compared to our experience at the Salty Dog. Every day was a new adventure starting with how the first sunrise took our breath away, to the star filled skies at night, that just made it difficult to get to bed at a decent hour to wake for the next opportunity of pure delight contained within the rising sun. We were treated to strawberry moons, neighbors proudly sharing their beautiful gardens with us and fresh picked rhubarb. The daily walks on the beach at sunset and sitting on the porch listening to the cackles of the birds flying by were just delightful. And this is only the gateway to all the other adventures to be held in the surrounding areas which include the arboretum, lighthouses, bays and more seafood than one could sample in a month! My only regret was that I did not bring my fishing pole with me, but will not make that mistake next time I get to visit the charming Salty Dog! Maggie ##### Margaret N.
