About this property
Lakefront “Treehouse”: Private Retreat in the Pines!
We love to call this place The Treehouse — ok so it’s not a literal treehouse, but it’s as close as it gets. Enjoy a private lakefront escape embedded in the amazingly tall Lake Livingston pines.
You won’t ever want to leave the huge, shady deck hammock with million dollar lake views, unless maybe it’s to jump off the dock into the refreshing waters of the 90,000 acre lake. Filled with board games and fresh coffee and lake charm and loads of memories, our lakefront treehouse will be sure to leave you refreshed and in love … with your family, with your spouse, and with the great outdoors.
Speaking of love, the master bedroom is designed to be a romantic getaway and is the perfect destination for an anniversary weekend … a glass of wine on the private deck, sunrise soaked coffee mugs, or a sleep-late kind of morning in the comfy king bed — all lend itself to reconnection and relaxation.
If you’re planning a big family kind of weekend, we’ve got that covered too! 2 private bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and one big loft full of beds and extra special touches for the kiddos. A closet full of board games and puzzles and a basket filled with toys for all ages ... there will be many a game played and coloring book colored on the unique and happy biergarten table and benches in the loft. WiFi, DVD player and a SmartTV in the living room are included for internet use and entertainment.
One of our favorite features of this home having had little ones is that the kids are either at the house OR they’re down by the water with you. The huge deck is completely enclosed with a gate leading to the walkway that goes down to the water. This feature makes mama’s heart a lot more comfortable with little ones at the lake!
For the big kids (literally and at heart), the large boathouse dock is a perfect swimming platform with two ladders leading out of the water. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and lemonade make the perfect dock picnic, as long as you bring the sunscreen. The water is 7’-8' immediately off the bulkhead, and the boathouse is complete with a fish cleaning station, electricity and running water. Our cove is known for its catfish and Lake Livingston is known for all kinds of fishing, including white bass, crappie, striper and black bass galore. Get lucky and you'll spot a bald eagle soaring overhead! (look for white head and white tail)
Pontoon boat and boathouse storage is not available for guest use, but there is a public and free boat launch only .8 miles from our house, plenty of room to tie up your boat to the dock (as long as you have the ropes and bumpers to make you comfortable), and there is plenty of room to park a boat trailer on the road at the house (so bring your own trailer lock).
Our street is a quiet dead end street and our house is the very last one on the road. A church is across the street and we only have one neighbor that you can barely see. Morning or evening walks to the public boat launch just down the street or through a neighborhood close by are lovely and the space is as private as it gets.
You’ll only be 21 miles from Huntsville if you need any of the chain stores or restaurants, 8 miles to Onalaska for donuts or a grocery store and 14 miles from downtown Coldspring which is as cute as can be. We’re also LESS THAN ONE MILE from Pearls in the Pines wedding venue so a perfect spot for visiting wedding guests.
We look forward to hosting you and helping you to make memories as stress-free-ly as possible. Please contact us if you have any questions — can’t wait for you to experience our not-literal-but-very-cool-treehouse on the lake!
Additional Perks: Keurig coffee station with single cup brewer, pods, creamers, and an AeroPress. Granite countertopped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and full kitchen including real dishes such as plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and silverware. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in both bathrooms. Clean house towels and lake towels. Laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Gas grille on the deck. Great AT&T cell phone service unlike many areas around Lake Livingston. (other carriers unknown) Suddenlink high speed wireless internet. Closet full of board games and puzzles. Pack n Play and washable sheet in master closet.
Notes: We do have one security camera pointed at the gate/parking spot just in case we ever had an unexpected trespasser. No other cameras on property. Please do not tamper with. There is a locked rope swing on the dock. It is not for guest use and we cannot provide the lock code as insurance shut that down.

Property is beautiful. It was tucked away behind the beautiful natural pine trees. With breathe taking views of the lake and it is definitely a great get away to unwind and just relax.
Kind host. Beautiful lake view. Cozy rooms. Easy directions. Relaxing getaway. Fun games in the house for the family. Good fishing. The living room has large windows that capture the sunrise perfectly. Would certainly go back.
We were looking for a relaxing end to our Texan adventure and this property fitted the bill perfectly. We spent many hours just chilling out on the large deck at the rear of the house overlooking the lake, and it did feel like we were in the trees! Unusually for this type of property in Texas, it was very private and secluded, particularly when relaxing on the deck. Cherise is a great host to deal with, providing clear arrival instructions (we didn't go down the neighbour's drive!), clear leaving instructions, and information about the property and the local area. Loved the furniture, especially the bean bags and comfy bed. The squirrels chasing each other and running around our feet on the deck were entertaining!
Was fantastic and functional. Peaceful, lots of bird watching from deck. very functional Kitchen, house layout (wish we had come here when we had small kids, even has a secret room under the stairs), deck was huge with massive picnic table. Dock was really nice, but we couldn't get in water due to weather/debri due to storms. AC is very strong and cooled house down quickly.
Recommend to go to cute towns nearby, like Huntsville and Conroe, if the weather is not lake friendly.
The lake was experiencing heavy rains and flooding when we were there (heard from some folks, historical high levels). The property and dock itself were fine - but made for a muddy mess trying to get to Dock.
only cons:
Master shower so strong it hurt and knotted me hair.
AC - when it kicks on - is loud and strong. Compressor is right outside master/downstairs bedroom wall. Light sleepers may find it an issue.
The hammock was filthy (and obviously wet from all the rains - but bigger issue was filth).
Very comfortable beds, as well as all the furnishings throughout the home. Could not have asked for a more convenient location to stay when attending a wedding at Pearls on the Pines. Owner quickly responded when I sent a message during our stay. Thank you, Cherise.
There aren’t many times the property listing pictures match with what you really get. This place does not fall in that category. Plenty of shade on the back deck and full access to the water and lighted pier. There is a well made wooden deck that goes down to the water from the house with a unique design. If you have a boat there and want to find a sand bar to post up at they have that too. All around nice place!

great house and perfect location
We are a french family of 4 people and we enjoy very much our stay in this very comfortable house. It's location in front of the lake is beautiful and very quiet. There was all that was needed (shampoo, medicine, laundry) to avoid having to buy them for only a few days. Without wifi or TV, it would be nice to add a radio or something for listening music, some books, and also a small guide with nearby shops, cafe, or hikes to do. We recommend this rental without any hesitation to anyone one who likes nature and quietness.

Perfect lakehouse for a family
We had a great stay at this lakehouse. It is down a quiet dead end road, nestled in the pineywoods of East Texas, perfect for getting away from it all. Our party of six was very comfortable in the home. There are two bedrooms downstairs and large loft upstairs. Plenty of room for everyone. The living room is very comfortable, with plenty of seating for all. We played a lot of games around the table. There is currently no TV or WIFI in the house, but we had strong T-Mobile connection and did watch a movie or two using our hotspot on a computer. The dock is very nice. Our kids enjoyed using the rope swing and fishing from the platform. We also brought kayaks and took them out several times. We did some geocaching in the area, as well. As this particular part of Texas is fairly remote, we planned for eating in most of the time. The kitchen, like the rest of the house, has been renovated and is really very nice. We brought a few specialty cooking items that we would need throughout the week, but overall found that the kitchen was well stocked and had pretty much everything we needed. We did enjoy one lunch out in a neighboring town while we were out and about. All in all, this was a very relaxing, comfortable, enjoyable time spent with family and all left with the opinion that it was a great week!
This place is everything it says and more. This was our second trip there. First was pre covid.. we will now be making it an annual trip. Perfect location, very peaceful, stress free and the owner is amazing.
The lake views are awesome! Quiet property and secluded. We were able to relax and enjoyed hanging out on the deck. We put the kayaks in nearby and our friends fished off the pier. We plan on staying again.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Much fun and very peaceful. Need to remove charcoal grill, very dangerous because bottom is rusted out. Gas grill very dirty from recent tenants. Clean spider webs from glass. But overall a Great place to stay.
Rented for New Year for 3 nights, It’s nice place, but it was so dirty, when we arrived - showers, bed, patio, cookware, washer- All of this very dirty. Towels all wet. Very disappointed, moved out a day earlier cause of cleanliness.
We had a wonderful time fishing, kayaking, laying in hammocks, playing cards, making s’mores and more. Extra soft fuzzy blankets in every room. Kitchen well stocked. We brought favorite pans fir cooking but was not necessary. Excellent getaway for our group of 9. Cousins ages 15-20 all had a ball and so did us adults. Would for sure return to this location.
We had a lovely time at this house. It is a great place to relax and have a good break. Cherise was really nice and easy to talk to. Everything was set for us when we arrived.
We struggled a bit with the heating system and found it difficult to get the right temperature throughout the house. So keep it in mind in case this is important for you.
My family from 3 to 50 in age enjoyed our stay at the tree house. The home was so inviting. We loved the big deck to watch the sun rise and the beautiful full moon. The wild life is abundance. We loved watching the Eagle. Caught several catfish. The boat deck is great for all ages. If you love nature you will love this place.
Beds are comfortable. Kitchen has all we needed. Washer and dryer was great. Good hot water for nice showers. I love the living room furniture it was very comfortable. Kids loved the big oversize beanbags. Lots of toys for the kids to play. Games for all ages. Bring your food, clothes and fishing poles you are good to go.
I hope they keep the tree house just as it is. I love how natural in nature it is. We live in the country and its nice to get to enjoy it even on vacation.
