The property is much better than the pictures lead you to believe. The stream is just steps from the back door and there is a second floor balcony that i was not expecting. Rusty Perch was an amazing experience. Tucked away in a quiet cool hollow next to a crisp running stream it offered much needed downtime and a salve for the soul. Mostly, I was there to unplug and I ventured out for rafting, kayaking, hiking and biking. Nearby, there were plenty of beautiful pastoral vistas, a rail trail and the gorgeous Youghiogheny river. . When I needed to plug-in I was able to work remotely on the Wi-Fi. connection. Video and voice calls were no problem. The cabin remained cool, around 76 degrees, in the heat of late July. Clean bedding made for amazing sleep during the cooler nights. One interesting note is that the cabin super efficient. The hosts have really done their homework. Stream-powered electric and clean UV-irradiated stream water were just a couple of their efforts to ensure that the cabin's environmental footprint was small.
