« We just wanted a quiet get away for a couple of days close to the North Cascades. We had hoped to see the fall foliage but it turned out we came a couple weeks early for the best of that. We stopped by the ranger station there in Darrington, and then drove up to Rockport and on to Newhalem to see what fall leaves we could. The cabin was quiet, clean and cozy. We loved sitting in the hot tub on the back deck and also sitting beside the Sauk River in the back of the property. »

« Very unique and fun cabin, very quiet and relaxing. This cabin, and all the others on the compound are right on the river, perfect location for fly fishing, hiking, climbing, and a trip to Leavenworth for a day trip. Nick the host, was simply the best, he has put a tremendous effort into this compound and it shows in every detail. I can;t think of anything that I would improve! I'll be back next summer for sure! »

« A+ 10 out of ten!! (But don't tell anybody.) The setting and scenery at The Whistling River Cabin are unbelievable. And the large deck is built to take full advantage of it. The hosts didn't miss a detail. Even the kitchen was very well equipped and was surprisingly well-stocked with items we did not expect to find. The gas grill was brand new. « Walmart grade furniture. The bed was only a standard size not even a queen size. The bed frame was broken when we checked in but again it was a very cheap bed frame. The two portable air conditioners could not keep the temp cool enough to stay in the house. We had to sit outside in the shade. The driveway was tough to maneuver in a full size truck. The cold plung pool was actually a cabinet freezer and was recommend to unplug it before you got in. I am not sure way you had to unplug it...
