Initially platted in 1814 in Columbus' South End, German Village was generally developed between years 1840 and 1914\. It was settled largely by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. German descendants at one time comprised as much as one-third of the population of Columbus. Restoration began in 1959 and the Historic District was established in 1963\. This was a great home-base between the rehearsal, dinner, getting ready for the big day, and where we spent our wedding night. The upstairs was quite warm when we arrived (it was very hot weather all week) but adjusting the window unit to high and turning on the ceiling fan helped a lot. The house is nice, and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had coffee, and the place was very homey. There is a streetlight than beams into the bedroom that we needed to block out, but that was a very small issue. We hated to leave. ##### Ann H.
