Just 15 minutes from everywhere in Grand Rapids, a short drive will bring you to the best local brews at Rapids Brewing and Klockow Brewing Co, food and wine at award winning UnWined Up North and coffee shops like Brewed Awakenings as well as many local shops and much more! \- 10 minutes to bike, or snowshoe Tioga Mountain recreation trails \- Less than 20 minutes from the Mesabi bike and snowmobile trail system access at the Itasca County Fairgrounds \- Just over 15 minutes to the IRA Civic Center Please plan to launch any personal motorized watercraft at one of the many public access locations on the lake. A list of those locations and GPS coordinates for the house will be provided prior to check-in. (Water at the end of the dock is about 3 feet deep) Please note: Exterior of property is monitored by surveillance cameras. Please do not cover or disable the cameras in any way. We have weekly professional lawn service and snow removal as needed. They may be onsite for 1-2 hours during your stay. Dates and times vary depending on weather and demand. The swimming area was heavily weeded and we did not find a swimming area near the cabin. We forfeited that and instead watched more of the Olympics! We stayed for a week at their Moose Point Lookout on Pokegama Lake. What an amazing property! It was clean, comfortable, and convenient! With many amenities—boat dock, kayaks, SUP, laundry, outdoor seating with fire pit and outdoor dining with grill. Watching the water and all the wildlife from the upper patio or at the water’s edge was simply magical—-loons, bald eagles, woodpeckers, red squirrels, swans with babies and jumping fish!!! Maria was easy to work with, very responsive and communicative before, during and after our stay. I have a couple recommendations to make your stay over the top perfect (black out blind in bunk room-the morning sun beams right in that window! Privacy curtain for sun room sofa bed guests and a bathroom towel rack) but truly have no complaints and only praise for Moose Point Lookout. If you want a power boat rental recommendation, we recommend Pokegama Boat Rentals LLC (the Holsmans are awesome).
