Our group of seven adored our stay at the river chalet! It was clean and provided anything we could possibly want! We hope to return for vacation next year.
The house was lovely and the location was perfect. Lots of wildlife on a private river yet close enough to kayak to Crystal River and restaurants. Then add relaxing in the hottub and viewing the stars around the firepit-the perfect vacation!
The house was so clean and had so many amenities. From towels to coffee to kayaks we had everything we needed. It’s located 8 minutes from the springs and only a few minuets away from restaurants and grocery stores. There was plenty of rooms with comfy beds. The projector screen was great for a little movie night. The host was communicative and very nice. This is the place to stay!
Very quite neighborhood, amazing views on the back yard. House was very clean with everything you need, we also enjoyed the kayaks , I recommend this place .
We’ve stayed in a few places in this area and so far here has been our favorite :)
Wonderful house on a beautiful property.
Privacy as well as opportunity to view nature, while be close to everything you’d enjoy.
Very hopeful to return in the future.
Such a peaceful place, right on the river. We had the most relaxing time and It was absolutely wonderful. I definitely plan on coming here again!
Also, Megan was so kind and very helpful if I had any questions.
Megan could not be nicer or better at communication! She was great!Nature is right outside yourdoor yet town is just 5 min away. We had kayaks, fire pit, hot tub, projector tv - list of amenities goes on & on.goes.
Thank you Megan. We had a lot of fun. Enjoyed the house, with all its comfort. Loved the location out in the woods yet near everything. We didn’t have time to enjoy everything that was available. We spent the evenings in the jacuzzi which was perfect for us. Everything was super organized and well thought when it came to supplies and games.
This was everything we could have wanted and more. Pictures don’t do justice. The amenities the host provide really made the trip! We went kayaking, fishing, played board games, as well as fooseball. (All provided by host) the beach supplies came in really handy as well. So much to do at the house we only went somewhere to do something else twice! Absolutely perfect 10/10 would recommend!
This was an amazing vacation! All the kids bunked in the room below (plenty of beds!) and the adults stayed upstairs. There is tons to do! The kayaks were much nicer than expected (the river is peaceful and pretty in that area), fishing, hot tub, TONS of games in the house for adults and kids, plenty of yard to play in, grill, fire pit….the ONLY thing is could say that is SLIGHTLY negative is the remote situation… seems like a lot were lost or missing, so maybe bring a Roku from home if an occasional tv break is helpful during your trip. That is such a small thing and not really needed during a vacation anyway. We LOVED everything about this house and will definitely be back! Thanks for hosting us and helping us make amazing memories!
One thing I have to say about this house is that you’ll never get bored. Whether you’re inside or outside. The house was loaded with games, bikes, kayaks, tubes, and even kitchen utensils for any kind of cooking and baking. We fell in love with the backyard. You sit in the hot tub and you feel like you’re one with nature. You have the squirrels by the river putting on a show every day, fighting over seeds and nuts haha.
The host has EVERYTHING you need, kayaks, tubes, suntan lotion, FLIP FLOPS, fire pit, hot tub, to projection screen to VINYL RECORDS, foosball table, chess set as well as casserole dishes and iron skillet, mixed etc. We could not have asked for more, there was something for everyone, as well as just drop the kayaks in the water and paddle out to the restaurant to eat and then play around in the water. We will definitely be coming back, it was the most relaxing weekend. The back yard was so peaceful and it really soothes the soul. The baby alligator and squirrels in the trees were a joy to watch. The home was exactly as it says, the beds are comfortable and it really felt like home. I loved the extra touches and the soft sound of the coocoo clock was just charming . Very unique stay you don’t find everyday. Very clean and well taken care of and close to everything you need, Publix was a mile and a half away, as well as KP Hole was close to go tubing as well or hiking at the state park.
We spent Thanksgiving at this lovely house with our four adult children. The sunroom was our favorite spot, with a whole wall of large windows offering serene views of the beautifully landscaped yard, bordered by a branch of the Withlacoochee River. Other than the house next door, which was empty during our stay, the property is wonderfully secluded, facing the river and the back side of a wooded island, making it peaceful and private. From the yard, we occasionally heard boats on the main river channel but couldn’t see them. Lots of nature: hawks, crows, squirrels, and even a small alligator and a turtle sunning themselves on the opposite bank. The outdoor furniture with cushions, firepit, and hot tub added to the relaxation.
The kitchen was a standout, with a cut-out above the sink overlooking the sunroom, so that even when cooking you get beautiful outdoor views. It’s one of the most well-stocked rentals we’ve ever stayed in, with every kitchen tool you could need and plenty of thoughtful extras.
We highly recommend Rainbow River Canoe and Kayak, just five minutes away, for a 4–6 hour kayaking adventure where they shuttle you upstream on the Rainbow or Withlacoochee River. Seeing otters on the Rainbow and alligators on the Withlacoochee was a highlight! Publix is conveniently close, just 10 minutes away.
The host was extremely responsive and proved that she truly cares about her guests when she moved heaven and earth to help us with an urgent need during our stay.
We loved our time at Megan’s home. From the get go she was super communicative and full of helpful local suggestions for our family trip (3 families with multiple kids). The room set-up was perfect for us and the home was so charming It was a beautiful location on the river and we loved using the kayaks/canoe, jacuzzi, snorkel gear for nearby springs, etc. Highly recommend!
This place is a mini sanctuary that is close to so much! It’s all set up with everything you need. Just get groceries and you don’t have to leave. The river is so fun to explore and looks and sounds so peaceful at sunrise. The house is beautiful and fully stocked! I will absolutely be renting this property again. 10 out of 10!
