Saying Goodbye!

Kings Island Resort became a 2nd home for my son and I the last five or six years. It was sad learning the owners are planning on tearing it down in December. The bad reviews are from those that stayed in the older chalets. I think those should be torn down, but leave the rest. There is no comparable affordable option to stay when going to Kings Island. I will miss the friends I made there.

Descent for the money

The property is great when it comes to activities to keep the kids busy. The rooms are in desperate need to an upgrade. For the price this is a good stay but complimentary breakfast is not included.

This was the worst experience ever at this hotel we have stayed there on occasions before understood that it had not been remodeled but was always clean and courteous this time the room was disgusting both comforters on the bed's had big mold spots on the carpet had stains all over it burn marks just not a good situation......The front desk was courteous and getting us new comforters but no apologies just blankets

Fair for price.

We found out that the hotel was closing its' doors on Nov 2, 2014. That explains why the room was not stocked. The lady explained that alot of employees left as soon as they found out, so they were short staff.

Needs improved

The room was very dirty, i usually dont complain about our rooms but their was dirty towels and wash clothes left in the bathroom. We like the location because it is very close to Kings Island and they also have a shuttle that runs all day to take you over their. But the rooms all need a very good cleaning!

Coffee pot in room had old coffee in it with large amounts of mold growing. I wonder what else had not been cleaned in a long time. Staff at desk was not concerned about my complaint. Mold in bathroom as well

The hotel seriously needs updated. Staff was wonderful our room was kinda musty and there was blood stains on the side of our mattress that we did not see till our last day. Honestly I would not stay here again. Unless there were major renovations.

While the staff was very pleasant and helpful, especially after asking to switch rooms, it was the first impression of the room that was very disappointing. The room smelled of mildew and mustiness, a large centipede type bug was on one wall and cobwebs were on two others; showing that the room was not kept very clean. We also found a used towel in the bathroom and upon turning down the sheets found grass and food crumbs all over one of the beds; we can only assume that instead of changing the sheets prior to our arrival, they reused these and just remade the bed. The overall appearance of the room was severely outdated and the paint and wall paper were both peeling off the walls and the lamps and outlets by the beds did not work. The only good part was that when we requested another room, the staff was very accommodating and helpful, even allowing us to inspect the new room before switching. Although smaller then we had originally booked, it was clean and didn't have any bad smells.

hotel is closing Nov 1 so they are short staffed. No one is cleaning the place so as you leave they don't clean the room. rooms smell musty. Linens were dirty so we went and bought some for the week end

Not satisfied

First off the whole reason we chose this hotel was because we've previously stayed here, the convenience of it's location (close to kings island amusement park) and it has a pool. When we checked in they informed us that the pool was not open because of sanitary issues from a previous party they had that day. Since we complained they said they'd have the pool ready by 9pm. Which they did. ( keep in mind that check in was at 4pm so that's 5 hours the pool was not available during our stay) Any place that I've ever stayed at including this place provides you with towels to dry off for after swimming. No towels were provided! My husband even walked to the front desk and asked for towels that night and the following morning, still no towels were ever provided which left us to air dry. We were told that housekeeping would be right there with fresh towels for our convenience but no one ever came. The pool bathrooms were dirty and the women's was locked forcing myself and my daughter to use the men's. Our beds didn't have fitted sheets, so as you would expect while your sleeping you couldn't keep the sheets on the mattress which in my opinion is disgusting. There were no extra blankets or pillows for the sofa bed so my children couldn't even sleep on or enjoy it. Also the door to our room didn't close properly, so all night it sounded like someone was breaking in as the wind blew it a good inch back and forth. Very unsatisfied costumer!!!

This hotel was disgusting. The first impression of the room... It smelled moldy and damp. The comforter on the bed was for a twin, but the bed was a queen. It did not have fitted sheets on the bottom so during the night if you turned over, the bottom sheet bunched under you and you ended up lying on a bare mattress. But the mattress may have been cleaner than the sheets if the black hairs on the sheets indicated their cleanliness. The carpet was dirty and stained. At first I thought that the window was tinted for privacy, but then I realized that it had not been washed in years. All the grime resulted in a tinted affect. The bathroom was the worst. There was urine and hair on the toilet seat. We stayed two nights. When house keeping came by at 1:00 pm and asked if we wanted our room cleaned, they acted put out when we said yes. When we got back to our room, the bed spreads had been pulled up and the pillows had been thrown on the bed (the sheets were not pulled up or tucked in) Nothing had been cleaned including the sink area and the bathroom. They did take the dirty towels and leave fresh ones though! But they did not have hand towels, so you had to dry your hands on a washcloth or bath towel every time you used the sink. When I ran a bath for my girls, the water came out so brown, we chose to wait until we returned home to bathe. If there were any rooms available in nearby hotels, we would have checked out and changed hotels. We will NEVER return.

GREAT ALTURNITIVE TO GREAT WOLF LOGE THE COST FOR TIMES AS MUCH. BUT KINGS ISLAND RESORT IS CLOSING ITS DOORS ON 11/2/14 AS WE WERE TOLD BY THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE.

DO NOT STAY HERE

The pictures they posted aren't the room you will get. The room smelled moldy. One of our beds had proper sheets, one of them had 2 flat sheets, and the hide away bed's sheet had a stain on it. The pool was ok until my 8 year old goes under water and found a PIPE! There was stains all over the carpet. I wasn't excepting something fancy but it was ridiculous!

Nasty rooms!!!

Rooms are awful!!! Stains in carpets, no fitted sheets, light that don't work, melted electrical plug sockets, bathroom door with a broken door jam (looks like it was kicked) and so much more. I requested more towels several time and only receive one towel and one wash cloth (two people staying in room). Stay away!!! Hotel Hell!!!

Best thing is free shuttle to the park

Our room was a hot mess bathroom counter fell off onto floor, curtain and blinds torn and holes in them no light bulbs in the lamps. And the $9.00 breakfast was gross go to McDonald's instead.

Great place right by Kings Island

Less then a mile from Kings Island - reasonable rates - it's not a 4-star but after all day at Kings Island most people are looking for a place to lay their head and get off their feet..

We were very satisfied with the distance of the motel to Kings Island and Restaurants. For a Hotel being built in 1974 it is pretty well maintained.
