This home is also pet friendly and next door is Goose Bay's sister home, A Summer Place (sleeps 10) which offers a great location for family groups or reunions. Pet friendly home $75\. The house was plenty big and nicely laid out for our family - everyone had a place to retreat, every bedroom had a bathroom, and the living room, dining room and kitchen are nicely laid out and comfortable. It’s a very nice house, but it needs some love and attention. Most of the furniture needs to be replaced or recovered. Two of the pieces were broken. The dishwasher didn’t work well and the dryer worked intermittently. The management company was responsive, but didn’t do anything. You need to provide your own sheets and towels, which is annoying. The photos are also a little misleading - the water in the picture is a tiny pond on an adjacent property. When I tried to clarify this before we arrived, we were just repeatedly told - “there is no water access” without any additional expiation. ##### Courtney S. Three t.v.’s in the house, upstairs, but none worked because Dish subscription had not been renewed. Dishwasher broken, furniture outdated, worn, and filthy. Black fungus/mold in showers. It is light-filled and overlooks a duck/goose pond which is at the back of the property and also the bay which is only one house away. Well-stocked for in-home dining. Comfortable layout. Large screened-in porch and also open deck outside of master bedroom. Only thing that needs attention is the porch furniture. The TV situation was a bit perplexing as there were many more gizmos than outlets. still, who goes on vacation to watch TV and this wasn't a major issue. Also the pictures are misleading. The picture that shows the water view is actually the back of the house which has a small pond with gross looking water. The couch in the living room stunk really bad and the white armrests looked gross. The bathroom in the first floor bedroom stunk as well. They put a blanket over that window as a curtain. The tub in the bathroom in the upstairs bedroom with the 2 beds barely drained so we were standing in dirty water with every shower. The bigger bed in that bedroom looked really questionable as it’s held together by screws that were added to fix it? The fan in the second upstairs bedroom is broken and they taped a note over the switch to not use it. The towel rack in this bathroom is not usable as it is not securely attached to the wall on one side. The house is surrounded by standing water making for a horrible mosquito situation. In general I would not recommend this house in its current condition for the price. ##### Veselka S. Upkeep/maintenance was was poor . I sent a maintenance request as soon as we arrived & never received a visit or response. 1)Outside shower was Not connected connected properly so wat we came out at your knees so totally unusable . We specifically looke for a house with an outside shower! 2) screen on back porch door was torn /hanging so did not help with mosquitoes! 3) dining room chairs rickety 4) back porch Fan did not work so in addition to mosquitos, we couldn’t use the porch 5) 2nd floor futon front frame is detached from front, we did not use it but was dangerous Looked like we may have been the 1st occupants for the season and should have had a thorough cleaning before we arrived. It was in a good location, with nice views, and convenient to all of the things that Chincoteaque has to offer. Unfortunately proper care of the place is not being taken. The first night we found that the french doors were broken and would not lock. We had to use a hanger to prevent them from opening to the outside. The property manager was called and managed to come out by noon the next day. They were able to lock the door, but it was not functional the rest of our stay. The furnishings were in rough shape. The couch and desk chair in the loft area were broken, the chairs of the dining room table were very wobbly, the bar stools were very dirty. All of the furniture was mismatched, as if it came from Goodwill. There was no coffee pot in the kitchen. We had a great time despite these small issues, but I would suggest some TLC for the furnishings and upkeep of the property. ##### Wendy S.
