Located on one of Chicago’s famous streets, you’ll be a 5-minute walk from the historic Gold Coast beach and intimate views of Lake Michigan. The property is also within walking distance of the subway, where you can connect to the L trains, and the Magnificent Mile. It is the perfect place to stay for adventurous travellers and those who fancy a beach in the City! The Space: A beautiful home nestled nicely amongst greenery. Upon stepping into this 4-bedroom townhouse, you’ll be struck by the vast size and traditional decor combined with modern chic. There is a large reception room as you enter; it’s a perfect spot for an afternoon read or seeking peaceful refuge should you not want to watch TV in the sitting room. Moving on, you’ll walk on through to the large polished dining table and kitchen. Both of which are fully equipped for amateur chefs and foodies alike. Going up the stairs takes you into a lounge with comfy sofas and a fireplace—perfect for chilly and windy Chicago winters! On the 2nd floor, we have 2 very large and spacious bedrooms, allowing lots of natural light and a shared bathroom with a bath. The 3rd floor boasts the large master bedroom of the house with a bed fit for a king or queen. A large traditional tiled shower room fitted with a multijet Kohler digital shower will help you unwind after a day of exploring. You can also find our bunk room, perfect for all ages, with a nicely polished oak frame. Our Chicago Townhouse is a holiday rental that becomes a home—you won't want to leave! SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS 1 x king bedroom (2 persons) 1 x bunk bed room (2 persons) 2 x queen bedrooms (4 persons) 2 fold-out beds, can be moved into any room (2 persons) Maximum occupancy of 10 persons total Guest Access: The entire house is yours during your stay. Please feel free to use all rooms, bathrooms, and areas. There is a basement suite below, which is rented separately and can accommodate up to 4 guests. (Have a look at our other listings on this account.) The living areas on located on the ground floor, with bedrooms on the 1st & 2nd floor. The house is big and open. It makes it a great place for everyone to chill out simultaneously, but equally offers privacy when you enter your room, should you want some quiet time. Please note that this property cannot be used for parties or gatherings of any size. Please do not request this usage. We cannot make any exceptions. PARKING We have a small garage located at the back of the property that is usable for guests. It can comfortably accommodate a smaller-sized car (VW Golf or similar); however, it is not large enough to fit SUVs, minivans, trucks, or larger estate cars. Garage measurements (note these are max allowances). are as follows: Width: 8ft / 243cm Height: 5.5ft / 167 cm Depth/length: 13 ft / 396cm \*\*Note: We are not liable for parking costs if your vehicle doesn't fit, or if you damage your vehicle getting in/out of our car park. For bigger cars, there are multiple multi-storey car parks all within a 10-minute walk of the property. The prices vary from $30-60 per day, depending on proximity to the property. There are also useful websites like SpotWhiz online, which have roadside parking spots available to rent. The Neighborhood: This area of Chicago boasts some of the best restaurants, bars and cigar lounges in Chicago. A truly special place to stay! The neighbourhood is residential, so quiet must be observed after 10 pm every night. Getting Around: Our townhouse is very well located for public transport. The subway is within a 5-minute walk. There are bus stops at the end of the road. PARKING We have a small garage located at the back of the property for guest use. As mentioned elsewhere in the listing, It can comfortably accommodate a smaller-sized car (VW Golf or similar); however, it is not tall enough to fit SUVs, minivans, trucks or larger estate cars. My suggestion is, if your car matches the sizes briefly explained above, to leave your car on the road out front, get all your luggage in, then take it round to our garage. The garage is accessed from inside the house by walking through the kitchen and down the little steps. Once you walk down the 6 steps, you will see the garage door. Please open it and enter. The electric button for the garage door is on the wall on the left-hand side as you walk through the door. This will open the garage. As you walk out the front door of 71E Bellevue Pl, the access to our garage is approx 100m to the right of the property as you walk out (towards Lake Michigan) Just before 1000 N Lake Shore Plaza there is a tight turn to right, which will take you down the private road behind our house to the garage. 100m up that road, you will find the garage. Unfortunately, we do not always have permits for the street. There are multiple multi-storey car parks all within a 10-minute walk of the property. The prices vary from $30-60 per day depending on proximity to the property. There are also useful websites like SpotWhiz online, which have roadside parking spots to rent. Other Things to Note: We may require a deposit for single-night bookings, last-minute reservations, and large booking groups. This can be retained for noise complaints, unauthorized parties, excessive uncleanliness, or damage beyond normal use. Please be respectful of our neighbors and keep noise levels low after 10 pm. A security company may visit the property for excessive noise complaints, and you will be charged for their attendance. The basement is a separate property and is available to book should you require it. Interaction with Guests: We are contactable anytime. Key safe access is provided, and a property host is available throughout your stay to assist with anything you may need. \*\*Please do note our head office and main contact is based in the UK and operates on GMT. It may take us a few hours to reply from late afternoon onwards. A real treat if you haven’t stayed in an 1880’s townhome before. Yet it’s updated and feels modern as well. Place was clean when we arrived, no issues. The location is among the action but also in its own quiet corner so you feel you can escape the city. Three floors means a lot of stairs, so if you’re mobility challenged keep that in mind. Our early model Toyota Camry fit the garage, but check the provided dimensions cause it really is tight. We were very thankful this home was available to rent cause it’s something we wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Hope to be back! ##### Jay K. If safety and customer service are your top priorities then do not rent this house. There was a mix up in the booking schedule and we showed up early to our reservation. That's when we found out that the door codes we were given to access the property were the same keys that they give all the renters. The codes we had were already programmed in and the key locks were open. The current renters were still inside the house when we walked in. When we contacted the owners and asked why we had the same door codes as the current renters they dismissed the situation claiming that they change the codes regularly. They refused to answer us as to why we were given codes several days in advance that matched the same access codes as the current renters. When we stated that we no longer felt safe or comfortable staying in a property with such lax security the owners refused to give a refund and let us cancel. AT NO TIME DID THEY OFFER ANY POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS! They ignored our questions regarding the security concerns and only responded that if we canceled we were not eligible for a refund. We called customer support and they were also concerned about he security and called the owners. Again the owners refused to allow us to cancel and still did nothing to offer a solution to the problem. It wasn't till the customer support manager asked them if they would be willing to immediately change the security codes that the owners finally agreed to anything. It was great to stay in a beautiful grey stone in Gold Coast. Better yet it is located in an excellent area, less than 1/4 mile walking distance to the lake, around the corner from Michigan Avenue shopping, the Hancock Building, the Drake, Lou Malnati's and other great restaurants, and pharmacy-- we walked to all of these places! It felt like a home away from home with the layout of the home and nice neighborhood. It was stocked up with everything one needs in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and family spaces. The interior was clean, welcoming and nicely decorated. My family was in town for my daughter's wedding and it was the perfect house for pre- and post-wedding activities. From when I reserved the house almost a year ago, to checking in, to checking out, were seamless. Julian was very responsive and clearly communicated all relevant information for the stay. It was noted the internet was not working upon check in, I notified Julian and in less than a couple hours, we had internet. The entire stay of 5 days were wonderful for me and my family. The experience setting it up to sadly checking out were pretty straightforward and easy. A big thank you to Julian and Jackie for the positive experience and the hospitality! ##### Angela E. Séjour de 4 nuits en octobre 2024 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Mary S. 23 oct. 2024 #### Wonderful location! We stayed at this townhome because our daughter was running in the Chicago marathon. The location could NOT have been any better. It is a very short walk to the Magnificent Mile and close to the race start/finish, and there are grocery and restaurant options nearby. We were looking for a four bedroom place and I couldn't find anything else that fit the bill, so we are very glad to have had this. The home is old, so has some issues that one might expect. However, on top of those, the floors were not very clean, the fan above the stovetop didn't work, and there were even some tips of nails (the sharp part!) sticking out of the hall floor on the third floor. The radiators are extremely noisy when heating up. One should know that it is 39 steps from the main level to the master (which was not a problem for us). The property managers were very responsive to inquiries before, during and after our stay. Having noted all that, we were happy with our stay overall. ##### Mary S. We loved the location and the townhouse itself. The lock box was a little confusing because there are 2\. In the age of door codes, I wasn’t expecting this. Another word of note: the staircase is old and the wood is worn on some places. If you have small children or someone who is unstable on their feet you might want to consider this. ##### Alexandra H. The home was clean and spacious. The garage was a plus. The house is conveniently located in the heart of Chicago with easy access to all Chicago’s neighborhoods. Gibson’s Steakhouse and the Original House of Pancakes are on the same street and both were hits with my teenagers. Communication with the property manager was timely and he made it easy to check in and out. I would highly recommend this property for your next trip to Chicago. ##### Hector N.
