My far the worst extended stay I have ever stayed at. I had to switch rooms 3 times due to them all smelling bad. You have to get the kitchen pots, pans, and everything from the front desk. They didn’t provide wash towels for the dishes. The bed is cheap and hard as a rock. The hall ways has this weird syrup smell to them and they don’t even serve anything that you would need syrup for breakfast. I checked out after one night and was refunded for my second night. There was hair on the bathroom counter and sink. The worst part was when we checked in, the cover to the air conditioning unit was sitting on the floor, next to the air conditioner. It was also unplugged and the window was cracked open. Whoever was trying to fix it previously, knew it was broken and cracked the window because it was so hot. After asking for another room that had working air conditioning, we were denied and told the hotel was sold out. As a perimenopausal woman, sleeping in a hot, stuffy room was an awful experience. Would have been nice to have someone tell us at check in that the room we were getting didn't have air so we could have had the option to go somewhere else. However, it was late when we checked in and took forever for the doors to even be opened because the desk staff was somewhere else. Looked like they were sleeping when they finally came out and unlocked the doors so we could even get in. Was just not a great experience. Bed was a fold up frame with mattress, no coffee maker, hair dryer, shampoo, kitchen utilities of any kind in room. They needed to be requested separately. First night people were fighting in the room beside mine, loud shouting and banging against the walls. Very scary. Second night the fire alarm went off. Grabbed as much as possible and exited room to be told it was a false alarm but they couldn’t turn it off. Sign at front entrance warned of car break ins and thefts from hotel parking lot. I have stayed in the hotel before and it was never this bad. I found myself going to this Extended Stay America as an escape from my own home. Ive been living in a studio apartment with a neighbor that has a rolling office chair on the hardwood floor that gets rolled day or night making it very hard to live, sleep or think. When I arrived late on a Sunday night I was treated kindly by Maya and after explaining my ordeal I could see she listened and even looked to see if she could get me a top floor . It wasnt available but was assured no rolling overhead chairs. The room was as quiet as a hotel can be and I was able to finally get some peace and sleep I spent 3 nights. They were friendly and accommodating the whole time. Greeted by front desk and housekeeping staff when engaged and the complimentary coffee and treats in the morning was perfect to wake up too. Vending machines were stocked and had good items. The Old Orchard Mall was close by for entertainment and food but grubhub also see delivers to the hotel without fees. The room fully suited my needs though it's a hotel that gets stayed at a lot. So the fridge was abit beaten up but it was quieter than my one at home. You could tell they clean and dust regularly. I pulled the recliner away from the wall to sit and not one dust bunny.
