Pileated woodpeckers, whippoorwills, ruby-throated hummingbirds (my favorite), chickadees, cardinals, American goldfinches, brown thrashers and scarlet tanagers just to name a few! We even have a hummingbird feeder in the Spring & Summer months so you can enjoy some little visitors while having breakfast on the deck. More interested in spotting some four footed furry critters? 🦊We have those too! From deer (spotted numerous times trekking through the backyard with their little ones and foraging for food in the woods), to foxes, rabbits, chipmunks and occasionally a bear. For all you outdoor enthusiasts out there, we are very close to many different and exciting outdoor activities! There is a well-known ZIPLINING company only minutes away, located just on the other side of the mountain. Get a Birdseye perspective of the mountains as you zoom through the trees! FIGHTINGTOWN CREEK is only a short walk down from the cabin and is very relaxing to hear the rushing water! Don't forget to bring your HIKING boots when you visit as there are numerous trails around just begging for you to hike them. The Benton MacKaye Trail is a footpath covering over 300 miles in Georgia, N. Carolina & Tennessee and we are fortunate enough to have a trailhead only one mile from the cabin! Looking for some heart pounding adventure? Head on over to the OCOEE RIVER RAFTING company, one of America's most popular rafting companies! It offers Class III and IV rapids and the best part? It's just 30-minutes from Dreamview! 🚣 After a long day of either outdoor adventure-seeking or shopping and dining you can return back to Dreamview cabin and unwind. Take advantage of the HOT TUB and relax with your favorite beverage 🥂while enjoying the views. Play a game of POOL 🎱 or play HOOKEY. Yes, you can now play hookey and nobody will ever know except you and your family or friends, of course! (We just added this wall game and it's super fun!) We also just added a new GAME TABLE 🃏 with built in checkers and chess for the more strategically minded. One of my favorite things about Dreamview is the backyard. Unlike MOST other cabins out there, we have a yard that is very usable. 1\. PARK GRILL---bring your charcoal. 2\. Large FIREPIT area---bring your smores supplies. Yes! 3\. HORSESHOE PIT---bring your competitive spirit. Uh huh! 4\. PICNIC BENCH---bring your hamburgers, hotdogs and beer. Yum! 🍔 5\. (and, last but not least!) PLAYGROUND---bring your kiddos. The wood-burning fireplace is beautiful. Every area in the home was very clean. We appreciated all of the cute bear details . The mountain view is spectacular, but of course that requires a steep and windy road , in some sections, to reach the cabin. I recommend driving during daylight hours, at least when arriving. The property was excellently maintained and the view hard to leave. Our grandkids never wanted to leave the property because of the playground, games and hot tub. The cabin views are incredible . Had a few sightings of deer running through backyard . My children loved the playground and horseshoe game in backyard . Lots of space to explore safely around the cabin with littles . The game room was another hit. Enough space for us to spread out/allow people to nap while others played etc. Incredibly clean . Decorated thoughtfully . Well stocked kitchen, s'more station with everything we needed to make s'mores . Another huge hit . Collected our own firewood from fallen branches and had the best time making our s’mores in the fire pit. It’s about a 21 min drive to downtown blue ridge which was precious with great restaurants and shops. Mercier orchard was also a wonderful apple picking experience . The kids loved the game room, playground, and firepit. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. We also enjoyed the wood burning fireplace in the living room, it was very cozy on cold evenings and mornings. The only downside was the long drive down the dirt/gravel road. We got there after dark and I would recommend arriving while it is still light, as the roads are narrow, especially with another car coming the other way. The beds upstairs and downstairs were very comfortable, and the main level bed was ok too. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. We have rented a cabin in North Georgia for every New Year holiday for 10+ years now. We were very impressed with this one. From the excellent communication with the host, to the amenities, to the perfect location with postcard views, this place is a step above the rest. I'd recommend this place to anyone. There is absolutely zero negative. What makes it even more special is the attenion to detail that the owners have put in to making sure all the small things that you just don't find at other cabins, like the full towel rack for just the hot tub or the full length mirror in the master bedroom. My three siblings, our parents, and my husband enjoyed the spectacular views from all the cabin's porches. We spent countless hours laughing, playing games, and relaxing in the hot tub. The cabin also featured a pool table and a Pac-Man game, which was a nostalgic delight for us 80s kids. The owners were incredibly personable, adding to our wonderful experience. Everything about our stay at Dreamview Cabin exceeded our expectations, creating unforgettable memories. The cabin was clean and one of the most well-stocked cabins I've stayed it (kitchen fully stocked, playpens, baby gates, etc). We left the cabin a week ago and the whole family has been in a funk, we want to go back ASAP. The view are absolutely breathtaking, peaceful and serene. We loved drinking coffee out on the balcony every morning. The kids loved the playground and the downstairs game room. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed and then some! The cabin was fully stocked with extras likes spices, items to make smores, several games and books. Plenty of room to spread out so not on top of one another if 6 or more. So relaxing! We enjoyed watching the humming birds in the am and the bats in the pm. We enjoyed playing pool and the games, cooking on the grill, hot tub, fire pit. We knew to bring fire logs for outside and so glad we did. The host Doug and Donna had excellent communication and even provided information regarding the area and things to do. The cabins decor was pleasant to the eye. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Quiet location, peaceful! The drive up was somewhat steep but we made it without incident and we didn't have 4x4\. Would definitely recommend the Dreamview cabin.
