Enjoyed relaxation at super clean, cute cabin by the creek, most comfortable bed, creek sounds great for sleep. Host most helpful and great communication. Will definitely be back again-favorite cabin now in Blue Ridge.
We just loved the babbling brook/creek in front of the cabin. The cozy cabin was stocked with items that we needed in the kitchen, bath, etc. The hot tub was a treat after a long day of hiking the waterfall parks and sightseeing.
My family and I stayed at Bear Pause for a quick trip before school started. My boys loved playing in the creek that runs through the property. While very secluded, it's less than 10 min from town for shopping and activities. Great wifi. Plenty of towels for use, lots of pots, pans, etc for cooking. We also enjoyed the hot tub as well.
Our stay was very relaxing, we were able to see wildlife from the porch, the creek is very soothing to listen to, super comfortable bed, we enjoyed the area and look forward to another stay in the future.
My husband and I spent our sixth wedding anniversary here with our two young daughters. We absolutely enjoyed this cozy little cabin, and all the neat scenery had to offer. Cab was so cute with the blackbear theme and really made it feel like we were having the “ Cabin experience”.
We were also able to take advantage of Apple picking at the nearby Mercer Orchards, which our family absolutely loved
I would highly recommend this cabin for a great weekend getaway!
Good for unplugging, relaxing, and resetting. Creek was calming to listen to in the evening when going to sleep, enjoyable to listen and look at from balcony over coffee and cocktails, and fun for walking in and skipping rocks. Perfect size for the 4 of us. Lots of things nearby to explore and do. We didn’t get to everything we wanted to do, but we had a ton of fun doing what we were able to accomplish. Can foresee an additional trip at some point to get the rest of the sights seen Amy was great to communicate with. We would stay here again!
Really neat place. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer. The creek is really nice and calm enough to allow children to play in -- The sound of the water can't be beat!
Cabin was great. The outside area was dirty and only provided 2 chairs by the fire pit and one was cracked. There was 4 of us staying there. That was disappointing. Everything was great. Thanks
Could not have asked for a better location. Cabin was beautiful and convenient to all of that Blueridge offers. Perfect for family getaway with the beauty of nature.
Lovely restive view of Laurel Creek just below the cabin deck. Inside of cabin clean. On a mountain, in the woods, secluded yet really close to the town of Blue Ridge. Enjoyed our stay, however would suggest the deck, chairs & hot tub cover as well as the hammock cover be swept or hosed off as the layers of dust & pine pollen are off/putting.

Could Be A Lot Better
Cabin was too dark, kitchen especially.
Steps and rails don't meet code
Pile of dirt in the middle of the driveway caused us to walk thru a muddy area every time we left and returned.

Disappointing
Not maintained. Very below average. Numerous things didn't work. Will not return.
We were excited to be on vacation cause we stayed at home last one.The cabin inside was sorta clean. The outside we had to sweep and wipe down everything before we could enjoy it. Location was great loved the water.Hot tub was not working either but not a big deal 2 guys came up at 8pm at night wanting a ride to find their cabin. We asked why they wasnt in their car and they said it doesnt do hills good. It didnt make sense and we felt uneasy in the middle of the woods. So we were suppose to stay 5 days and went home after 2 so yes disappointed.
The cabin here was just what we needed after a tough few weeks. I just wanted to get away and the peacefulness of this cabin with the creek outside was just the ticket. We spent three nights here, never once turned on the A/C, and could hear the creek no matter where we were in the cabin. My husband even said it was like a narcotic because we were so relaxed. :-). Amy was incredibly responsive with any questions we had, even checking with the cleaners to see if we could get in early since we got to town ahead of schedule. The cabin does face a gravel road so cars do come through from time to time but the creek drowns out a good bit of that noise. That was the only thing that surprised me but it didn’t dampen our enjoyment a bit. We definitely plan to come back and spend more time on that porch!
This is an adorable small cabin that sits right above a beautiful noisy creek! The two bedrooms are small, but adequate, with the second bedroom having a full bunk on the bottom, and twin on top.
The covered porch that fronts the creek is large with 2 rocking chairs, and a small table with 3 high chairs. It was a wonderful place to relax and listen to the creek. There was a also a gas grill on that level, that worked well. The kitchen was small, but clean.
The cabin is very convenient to Blue Ridge, and as has been mentioned the gravel road to the cabin is like most mountain roads, just take your time.
The only negative I have, is that the furnishings are a bit sad and worn, it might be time to update. We spent about 30 minutes cleaning the porch, so we could use it. I have never stayed anywhere that I needed to clean first. The hot tub was functional and hot, but we chose not to use it. It looks like it really needs a new top to secure it.
Overall, the beauty of the setting is the ultimate winner!
