A home from home with a wood burner, comfy living area and well-equipped kitchen, this cosy abode offers a fantastic space for family and friends to enjoy. The courtyard garden is a wonderful sun trap and leads out from the sitting room, creating a brilliant open plan outdoor living area, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining in the summer months. With the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water just a five minute walk away, Callow Cottage is the perfect location to explore all the eateries, boutique shops and delights the village has to offer. Accommodation This three bedroom holiday cottage in Bourton-on-the-Water is perfectly suited for those looking to get together with family and friends, exploring the local town and eateries. Having convenient parking right in front of the house was great. The unit was comfortable and had most of what we needed as a family of six. We had a few issues with the bathrooms-only one shower could be used at a time, if someone was using the shower downstairs there was no water pressure in the rest of the house. We also had an issue with the washer/dryer combo-every time we’d run a dryer cycle it would leave the clothes dripping wet. Despite these couple issues, we had a fantastic stay and I’d recommend Callow Cottage for a holiday in the Cotswolds. ##### Cynthia C. Great location in town with a short walk into the town centre, beds comfortable. Perfect location for exploring the town and nearby tourist attractions. The house had everything we needed with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge for relaxing together. My only points would be that it would have been helpful to have a bit more info about long term parking. We had three cars as we were all coming from different parts of the country. We were told that there was 'plenty of parking on the main street'. However there was only parking for 90 mins and no return. We ended up using an app and parking the extra car on someone's drive. Taking walks around town and through the side public paths were really nice. However, the beds in the master bedroom and 2nd level queen bedroom were incredibly rickety and loud- they cracked and squeaked every time we moved. We tried to find tools to tighten the hardware, as the joints were loose, but could not find anything in the home. I didn’t think it was an American place, even in our oldest states this was more established. Then I randomly stumbled upon the Cotswolds. Stone bridges? Yup. Cute shoppes spelled “shoppes”. Yes. Stretch goal of incredibly kind people and amazing food? Nailed it. And this little cottage was our perfect home. It was three of us old friends traveling together and like all creatures in 3’s we had different needs. This place was perfect. The kitchen is adorable and really well appointed. I wished I had stayed to bake something! The living/dining room was spacious for our needs - and the furniture was comfy. The little patio allowed us to enjoy surprisingly good weather in an indoor/outdoor flow. Each bedroom was spacious and had everything at hand. I was thinking, “there must be a hairdryer”, opened a drawer and there it was. The beds were comfortable and clean. Each was simply but cutely furnished. The cottage is situated a short distance from town center, but far enough that there isn’t a lot of foot traffic nearby. Also, The Mouse Trap pub just a few doors down has incredible food and we later heard it’s quite well known. The only (slight) negative was that we had trouble with the gatelock and tried to contact someone and wasn’t able to do so. Fortunately, we figured it out. I just loved everything about it.
