![It was built in 1693/94 by Johann Bernhard Fischer of Erlach for Ernst Rüdiger of Starhemberg under the name Jagdschloss Engelhartstetten. In 1725 the castle was purchased by Prince Eugene of Savoy . It received its present appearance under Maria Theresia around 1765 by the court architect Nikolaus Pacassi . The paintings of the Festaal are by Jean-Baptiste Pillement . From 1945 onwards there was an increasing decline of the castle. Since 1980, it has been restored and now serves as an exhibition and venue. In 2016 Schloss Niederweiden, for example, will be one of four locations of the exhibition on the centenary of the death of Emperor Franz Joseph . In the former Lustschlösschen of the Habsburgs exhibition shows on hunting and leisure are shown in the special show. "Arrived in Bratislava very late at night but hotel easy to get to by public transport, with an excellent 24 hour reception. Hotel clean and pleasant, but adjacent to quite a busy road. Breakfast very good with very attentive staff, Good value and would certainly stay again when in need of a stop-over in Bratislava."

"Underground paid parking on site was a plus. The room was nice and had a mini kitchen with cooktop but no pots or dishes other than basic plates and cutlery. Great restaurants close by and grocery stores. Walkable to historic city center , about 40 minutes or close to tram if desired. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again if ever in Vienna."

"I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Der Wilhelmshof. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is only 5 minutes from Praterstern so good connections to the airport and city centre, and the Ringstraße is only a 15 minute walk. There are lots of bars and restaurants around, so it’s a great place to stay. I will definitely stay here next time I’m in Vienna. "

"It was easy to get to the U1 and then to central Vienna. We had no trouble going to the Opera House and the chapel for Sunday Mass sung by the Vienna Boys Choir. The staff were so helpful. The luggage room was especially handy as we had time to waste between check-out and our cruise joining time. This is a hotel I would recommend."
