"Stunning hotel in superb waterside location. Only stayed 1 night sadly. One of the comfiest beds Ive ever slept on. Very nicely furnished bedrooms. Everywhere spotless. Lovely evening meal in Dolittle restaurant. My visit coincided with very hot weather - beautiful electric blue skies and a sublime view. Fan in room. Didnt visit the pool or spa but from above the infinity pool looked lovely (if relatively small). There are a few short trails you can do around the hotel. Staff were friendly, including Joao who checked me in. No faults at all - this very much falls into the 'treat yourself' category cost wise but I shall definitely return."
"The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to order. The dinner was wonderful and the staff were efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Caseys."
"Bit of trouble at check in with the key lock box being jammed but Paul was responsive and the grounds keepers were AWESOME! The place is def a bit of a journey to get to, quite remote, but beautiful property. The biggest issue was the bedding. Beds, blankets and pillows were poor in our opinion and could use an upgrade to really elevate this property. Not great sleeps for us. Kitchen beautiful and everything you need!"
Lovely Cottage in the Cork & Kerry Mountains. Stunning Views A Hikers Paradise
10/10 Excellent
"An absolutely breathtaking location as you are nestled in the Cork/Kerry mountains and need for nothing. Jonathan is an incredible host who makes your stay so special with knowledge and suggestions only a local person can possess. His friendliness and upbeat aura are infectious.
The cottage is delightful, well crafted and cozy. A very clean and tidy space with plenty of amenities for cooking, lounging and relaxing.
Our stay here was nothing short of amazing and bar none our favourite place in Ireland we have visited. The only thing to improve upon is our own planning skills as we wish we stayed longer than two nights!"
"Schull is a gem. Loads to do locally with lots of walks/hikes to explore and enjoy, which is why my wife and I were there. There is an abundance of water sports/activities available and the ferry to the islands. Each of the local towns have a trail head, where a number of looped walks start, and there are also walks to the next town where you can get lunch etc before returning to the start.
The hotel is directly across the road from the trailhead and a large car park.
The food in the hotel excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, well maintained and recently refurbished. The rooms at the front have spectacular views of the harbour and islands. It is a short drive to neighbouring towns/villages and to the Mizen.
It might be a bit of a drive to get there, but I used this as an opportunity to stop along the way and (re)discover this part of west Cork; it did not disappoint, with loads more to discover when I return to the area."
"Elegant old hotel, high level of service. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of options. We were on the first floor so view was good but I’m sure upper floors have amazing views.
We had a noise issue, with an old radiator that needed to be bled on occasion or it made a loud jackhammer sound in the wall of our room. Happened twice, once early in the morning. Staff took care of it promptly but it was annoying. But it is a very old place."
